HI everyone !!!
I'm new here. I'm planning on starting my diet plan tommorrow (4-1-03) I must say, this board is really encouraging and motivating when your trying to lose weight. Everyone here is so sweet and inspirational, with good dieting tips. I know I'm going to enjoy being a part of this forum. This is just what I need to help me reach my goal weight, along with dieting and excersize. What I wanted to know was, if I walk 30 to 45 min. on my treadmill, along with 30 min. of aerobics 5 days a week, is this enough to burn fat. I don't really have the time to go to a gym, because I have a family.
One more thing .... A few days ago I got on my treadmill and started walking, after 20 min. my legs and waist area started itching really, really bad !!!!
I couldn't even finish my walk ! I just wanted to know if anyone else ever experienced this. I appreciate any responses. Thanks !!!

ceilo: treadmill walking is great for burning fat- assuming your not just taking a leisurely stroll!!!lol. I too have a family (plus provide daycare in my home) so my treadmill is my lifesaver. Sometimes I can get out for an early morning walk provided I have no kids arriving; but the weather doesn't always cooperate!!! Plus, I'm so busy running my kids around in the evening--that doesn't leave much time to walk outside either!!!!

Can't really respond to your itching problem; never had it! Could it be that you're sweating and maybe it's the material from your clothing that's making you itch? Or could be the sweat itself. Not sure!

Anyhow, welcome to the board and keep up the good work. Remember, we mothers (and wives & daughters) have huge responsibities these days~~~but we can't take care of our loved ones unless we make time to take care of ourselves too!!! Oh- didn't mean to leave out the guys~Sorry!!!

Be sure to let us know how you're doing!!

I also experience that. It is called cholinergic urticaria, it might help to take an antihistamine thirty minutes before you exercise. This may be it, but I am far from a doctor, so if you don't think it is related to that then you should try something else. Just wanted to say that so no one thinks I am trying to give medical advice. lol
Well good luck.. kk

Hi guys,
Thanks for responding. I started my diet today, and I feel great !!! Before I walked on the treadmill, I actually did 30 min. of aerobics. When I got on the treadmill, I didn't itch at all. Maybe it's because the aerobics warmed me up. I don't know. But maybe I do have some kind of allergic reaction. I'm going to check it out with my doctor.
But anyway, I had a good workout today, and I have been following my diet and drinking lots of water !!!
I took my measurements this morning. I'm going to take them again in another week or two. I had my hubby to hide my scale from me !(LOL) I have tried to diet before and always gave up because I didn't see a difference on the scale. I would feel a difference with my clothes, but not the scale. I started thinking maybe the difference I was seeing was all in my mind.
But now I know even if you do lose inches, it might not show up on the scale. But I know this time, I'm going to make it work.
Well anyway, stay focused and motivated, and remember food doesn't control you, you control the food. If you take that in mind before you know it, you'll reach your goal !!! Take Care !!!

Cielo.
