How fast was it that you guys started losing weight on atkins? was it rite away or did you have to wait until your body was in ketosis?
(oh and could you please tell me your height and starting weight in the response)

Hi there ...

I have only been on Atkins for one week and my post probably doesn't count for much lol but I am bored so I thought I'd share my stats with you ...

I didn't get into ketosis until day 5 of induction which is most likely due to my HIGH storage of carbohydrates (all my previous meals were high in carbs cos I just seem to love all those REALLY high carb foods like rice, pasta, bread etc.) but still managed to lose 4.5lbs ... which is pretty good for me especially because I went onto atkings after being on WW for 3 1/2 months ...

I am 21 years old, 5'3 and weighed 148lbs before going on atkins ...

the reason I stopped is simply because I have to admit that I cannot live without my carbs lol ...

thanx, so did you lose those 4.5 lbs during the course of the week or just those during those 2 days while u were in ketosis?

Hi!

I think I cannot give a definite answer to this question because I only weigh myself once a week. I personally think I lost the weight during the week rather than just on two days but like I said that's just a guess ...

you shouldn't focus too much on how much you lose per day - try and weigh yourself once a week at the same time and same day ... first of all it will take the stress and pressure of a daily weigh in of your mind and secondly the results are gonna mean a lot more to you if you see one big loss like I had with the 4.5lbs rather than 1/2 a pound a day or even less ... you can get paranoid that way lol also don't forget that all the food and water you take in per day is going to make your weight fluctuate during the day so you weigh yourself in the morning and you are 1 lbs less than the day before but then you weigh again the same day in the evening and you might weigh more than the morning weigh in or even the weigh in the day before ... just a tip!

I lost 7 lbs. the first 2 weeks, but don't know when I went into ketosis, as I never used the sticks. I just ate 20 or less carbs a day and left it at that. I lost a total of 22 lbs.....I am 5' 1" and I started at 138 lbs. back in November. I've since "stuck" to the 20-25 carbs a day.....some days I add more....as a reward, I enjoy a BIG bowl of hand popped popcorn once a week. I haven't lost any more weight, which is fine with me because I made my goal. I've had to go out and buy all new clothes, as I went from a size 10 to a size 5/6.

Hi, I am 27 female 5'3" start weight 176. My stick changed colors in 2 days. (story about this after) On day 7 I weighed and measured myself again. I lost 8 pounds and a total of ten inches.

o.k., about my "stick" my husband did not know I was doing this. He overheard me call my mom and tell her that my stick was dark pink. He almost had a heartattack. "what stick, What is pink" this is what he was yelling as ran into our bedroom. lol

Thanx for all your help guys, Ill try to weight myself less but, its kinda hard cus i really like to know how much im losing but ill try, im currently doin a low carb-low cal combo : I eat low cal,low carb foods (such as boiled eggs and tuna) and i drink protein shakes and lemon water so i hope ill see good results.

I thought I would tell you what worked wonders for me!! Every morning I eat 1 cup of Fiber One with a banana and some splenda and 1 cup of skim milk...may sound horrible but it isn't and it is very very filling. I also have my coffee with slenda and fat free cream. Then...I only eat protein for the rest of the day. I have lost almost 90 punds in a year on this. It is lower carb..but I am still getting the fiber and I feel fuller through the day because of the bigger breakfast. I just thought I would let you know!
