Morning all! Just thought I'd check in before I get my day started. Actually; it's been started for several hours now!!! I'm waiting for the Dr.s office to open so I can make my son an appointment. He's got drainage from both ears so I'm positive its an ear infection. It's weird; he had tubes put in 2x and then eventually had his adnoids taken out--that was a couple of years ago and hasn't had an infection since-until now! It's been very painful for him; we were up again most of last night. So, needless to say; I'm the equivalent to a walking zombie today!!!
I never did workout last night either, because I was constantly tending to him. Maybe later I can get something done! I did very well with eating though- stayed within my 20 carbs (actually around 13) so I'm feeling good about that!!! And I wasn't even starving last night!
Well, it's about time to call~~~I'll be sure to check back in later! Hope everyone is doing well today!!

Where is everyone today? Or am I the only one addicted to my computer!! Actually, I'm being pretty lazy today; but there's not too much to be done! After I'm done here- I'm off to the treadmill!!! My son doesn't go to the doctor until 3:30 so that gives me plenty of time to exercise and take a shower! All you people who go to the gym~ I envy you! There aren't any close to where I live~well, there is one--but they don't have any type of childcare. So, that about blows it for me! I think if I were paying for a membership~ I'd be more likely to go everyday and stick with it!!! The gyms around here that do provide childcare are like 45 minutes away--too far to drive for an hour workout!!! Listen to me--complaining!!! I need to light a fire under this butt and get moving!!!

jennie: im here. its just that i slept in&then i had to clean the kitchen. that stinks about the gym. do u have a ymca? they have childcare i think. youre doing great! keep it up. sorry bout your son.
yesterday was day 1 of having fruit in my iett(im kinda fed up wh whats considered trasditional low carb) but im still eatin close to 20 oz. lean protein a day& i wasnt hungry on the fruit b/c i aways ate it wh the protein. i dont eat lots of it. (about 2 c) & was still down 3/4 today.
my tmj is actin up bad. my jaws are swollen. thank god im going to the dr tomorrow. i will beg him to treat it.

I just got back from the gym, I did the step class, it was alot of fun!! I always like to do a group thing but they only have that class once a week. They have others like kick boxing and weights but I have not taken those classes yet.

Hey all!! Things are going okay today. I kinda screwed up with my lunch, but I really had no choice...there was just nothing to eat. I will just have to make up for it when i work out after work.
Angeline: I am doing the calorie counting also....trying to stick to between 1200 and 1300 most days....but having the intake a bit higher one day a week so my body won't get used to one amount. I try to work out four days a week, but lately I have only made it to three days because my schedule has been hectic!!! My main problem is my lower body. My upper body looks great (although I lost a cup size in my chest, which was not big to start with!!!!) But, my lower body is huge!!!! I have 23 inch thighs that i would like to get down around 18 inches!!!!!
Anyway, take care all!!!

Hey all,
Been a little bit since I checked in. Sounds like you are all moving along, and it is nice to see some new names (new to me) posting.
I have lost 31 pounds since the Challenge started at this point and am still trying to keep it up. I have started walking about 1-2 miles a day now, even though my calorie intake is up slightly due to me being near family and friends now, and they all keep taking me out to eat. I am still doing well, just not as well as I was solo in Texas. =)

Nikki--what sort of workouts do you do? Using an elliptical machine might help w/your lower body. It has helped with my thighs and butt quite a bit...But I still wouldn't choose that over a good run.
Well, today is an okay day so far. I went to the gym around 10:30 and ran 2.5 miles--and I ran the whole time! I'm starting to get better at that, at being able to run for longer periods of time. But my mile is still about 11 minutes, which isn't bad but isn't that great. I want at least to do it in 10 min consistently...I guess that's a goal for me, as well. I also used the stairmaster, but only for about 20 minutes b/c I started to get really tired and thirsty.
I went home and had a shake, and then had some baked beans. I know, I'm weird, but I like baked beans...so I heated some up. Didn't eat too much, but I forgot to check the can for calorie content. Probably wasn't all to bad, and they've got a lot of protein and are fat free. Then my boyfriend called and wanted to meet me for lunch at 2 at this veggie place we like to eat at. I got a bean burrito and ate the whole thing! But even though I'll probably eat more calories than usual today, none of it was "junk". And I'm supposed to get my period tomorrow so I need more calories (so I hear, any truth to that?)
Anyway, I'll just drink a lot of water.
I'm sort of in a bad mood lately b/c the weather turned from like 78 degrees and sunny to 35 and cold and rainy...and it's making me depressed! I'm so cranky. And I don't feel like going to classes b/c of it. Man, what gives...?

yellowroselisa: cardio kickboxing is a lot of fun--you should try it out. If you like the step class you'll probably really enjoy it.

well, i got on the scale today and i'm up 4 pounds (184 :( ). i am totally depressed. now instead of 5 pounds by 4/19 i have 9 pounds. i think its stress weight, because i have been super stressed lately, but it only took me 3 days to put on those 4 pounds... at this rate i will be back over 200 within the next few weeks. i hate struggling with my weight, everytime i finally think i'm getting somewhere, something always happens. how are yall doing? hope you're having better luck than i am. talk to yall later. take care and God bless!

Hi guys! Just checking in before I go down to lift weights! It's such a beautiful day today that I can't wait to get outside! The neighbors might laugh if I drag my tv, vcr, and weights outside!!!lol

Then finished that of with 2 crispy cream donuts and a glass of milk!!! TAKE THAT DR. ATKINS!!!
Just reached my breaking point of 2.5 weeks of no weight loss and said WHATEVER!
I'll have it back together tomorrow.

gg: the old faithful breaking point huh? i dont blame ya. im kinda there myself which is why i added a little bit of fruit to my diet(1-2c day)burgers& fries are 1 of my fav meals too. its actually what i eat on the weekends..... i make 2 90% patties on my gf gril with low fat cheese& put them on a nice kaiser roll&bake about 2 servings of the oreida golden fries in the oven. i also put pickles on the burger along wh lite miracle whip, ketchup,&mustard. then the other day i eat boboli pizza smothered in cheese&crushed tomatoes.
i hope ya enjoyed ya meal hon. you deserve it! :)

Just a comment from the peanut gallery...If you're doing the Atkins diet for life--which is how it's supposed to be followed, don't you think it means something when you can't stick to the plan even for a little while without hitting a "breaking point"? I am seeing a pattern here with many on the Atkins diet--sure it might help some lose weight, but I do no think it is for everyone, just like a low fat diet isn't for everyone, or a low cal diet isn't for everyone. If you break down and need to eat donuts and fries, in reality it means that this diet isn't for you. The reason you binge is because your body is craving much needed carbohydrates that you're depriving it of. I think it is simply unhealthy to abuse your body in such a way that it causes you to choose foods irrationally, as in binging and then feeling guilty, and then going "back" to the plan you can't seem to be satisfied following.
Anyway, I was down another lb this morning! Did well at the gym, 2 miles running, and some elliptical machine stuff, and then I just left b/c I got my period today and I felt like crap. It was good enough that I even *went*.
I did the shakes today, I had one for breakfast, and then some pretzels, then a shake again, then a big spinach salad for dinner w/olives, sunflower seeds, tofu, some peppers and fat free catalina dressing. I also had a piece of rye bread with hummus. I drank 2 liters of water today too, and still going. After I got home from work I had a hummus wrap with black olives and cucumbers. I also just had a few pieces of this really delicious hazelnut dark chocolate bar to satisfy my menstrual cravings...hehe.
So, yes, I think I might hit 130 by Saturday, guys, it seems reasonable! Yay for me! Wish me luck b/c I have exams next week, yuck!!

Just an FYI, I was watching the dummy box the other night and I heard that anything rapid, repetitive, low resistince ( small weights) work better for weight loss. Otherwise you'll bulk up like Hulk. Oh yeah and deep breathing while your sitting at the computer.

im doin ok food wise, but im fightin some major major cravings(pms) and stress. im a bit depressed today b/c im sick to death of not bein able to go anywhere or do anything during the day b/c i have no way to get there.(the accident made that happen)
