Hi. This is definately not the right place to be posting this, but I thought somebody might know soemthing about my question.
I am not sure whether I should be worried about my recent weight gain. I am female and 19 and a half years old. This time last year I weighed about 50kg (< 110 pounds). I am 5"5', so that was probably not heavy enough. But now, over the past twelve months I have gained 8 kilograms (17.6 pounds) to be a total of 125 pounds. Is this drastic weight gain, or is it normal? I have no idea HOW this happened. It is a little depressing when I think about it. I try not to. People used to think I was thin. Now I'm not. All the weight seems to be in my stomach and upper thighs.
The only reason I can think of is going on the BC pill last August (2002). I heard the pill can cause an increased appetite, but I haven't been eating that much more. And that seems a lot of weight to gain.
Should I be worried?

THANKS :)

I would definately let your doctor know about this. When i was your age and went on BCP I actually lost weight but I was going through a stressful time. Alot of people say they have gained weight while on the BCP but if you tell your doctor maybe he'll switch you to another brand.

Has your activity level changed? Or how has your life changed over the last year?
