View Full Version : I lost 2 lbs in one day!

I was kinda suprised to get on the scale, and notice that I had lost 2 lbs. Here is what I did today, and I'm going to continue it!! I realize it looks similar to the mayo clinic diet, although they don't allow fruit or as much carbs as I eat.. I prefer it this way better.

Breakfast-
3/4 cup grapefruit juice with 2 tbls apple cider vinegar
3 egg whites with one egg yolk and a half a slice of extra lean ham. Dash salt and freshly ground pepper

**Workout 2 hours later** Biking for 40 minutes, dumbles for 5 minutes and 50 situps 50 crunches

Lunch-
3/4 cup grapefruit juice with 2 tbls apple cider vinegar
A can of tuna with 2 tbls fat free miracle whip, and 1 tsp mustard
A salad with 1 very small tomato, cut up carrots, topped with Olive oil vinegarette.. yummy dressing!

Snack-
1 apple
1 tsp natural almond or peanut butter
2 slices lean ham or turkey

Dinner-
3/4 cup grapefruit juice w/ 2 tbls apple cider vinegar
1 chicken breast (with fresh chives from our garden, parmasan cheese, and salt and pepper)
Salad (Same as lunch)
1 serving green beans

Snack-
A cup of caffeine free tea with 1 packet splenda
An orange
tsp almond or peanut butter (Or 5-6 almonds)
2 slices deli meat

just a question...does the apple cider help with the taste of the grapefruit juice. i just started this mayo clinic diet and the juice is killing me. i'm having to take it in two shots to get it over with.
i heard you won't see a weight change for the first 5 days or so. but i started yesterday and i have lost 2 lbs. too. i'm going to keep it up for a while and see what happens. keep me informed.

Actually I like it with the apple cider vinegar, although.. I like it plain. Apple cider vinegar also has a weight loss affect like grapefruit juice.. So I'm wondering since I have fruit in my diet it is helping me burn more? Do you workout on the mayo clinic diet? If not that could also be why I am able to eat more.

Anyways JPIPES, you might like the apple cider vinegar. It did take some getting used to for me, but now I've taken a liking to it.

Have you tried holding your nose and just downing it? might make you feel like a little kid but it works!LOL

Do you use regualr apple cider vinegar or the organic stuff? I heard the organic is what you should use. Just wondering if there's really a big difference, except in the price that is. : )

hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!! this will be my third day on this diet. i am down 5 full lbs. the only thing i see a problem with if that i'm starving when i wake up. why? i think it is because i never ate breakfast before and now my body is wanting it. i don't know...but i think i'm going to like this thing, if i can get used to the grapefruit juice.
