jpipes:
Just read your reply to a post. I started mayo clinic today. I weighed today and tomorrow I'll check the success. I know I should not really expect to lose anything for the first five days. How much are you trying to lose? Do you have a deadline?

i'm not adding the apple cidar. right now i am suffering through the grapefruit juice. it's only been three days and i have lost 5lbs. as long as i keep this up i'm not going to do anything different. i have tried everything and it was always temperary. i'm hoping this will be different, because this is not an "off the wall diet" for me. the only i did different from my norm was start drinking the grapefruit (yuk!) and stop drinking coke. That was hard. but i tried to cheat and drink one yesterday. it made me sick. i only got two sips down. anyway, as of this morning i am 205lbs. i'm 5'10" so my goal is around 160. i have alot of muscle so my weight will be higher then others. i don't have a set time to do it. as long as i know i am working to get there and i see some results. good luck to you. bye tracey

Just weighed in. I was 225lbs. I'm now 223. YES!! I started taking something called Citristat Saturday before beginning the Mayo Clinic. It is the rinds from grapefruit in a pill. Take 2 in the morning. But I stopped. I think Mayo will be enough. I decided to save them in case I got a block though.

Anyway, I have one problem. I have a pretty hectic schedule. I can usually work breakfast in and lunch/mid dinner. By the time I eat dinner it is already after 8 or 9. I really want to stop eating late. Any suggestion on scheduling.

Oh, another thing. I had posted a question about whether too much grapefruit was bad. The reason was because i don't really care for the taste of grapefruit. I know Mayo works because I tried it before for a couple of weeks. Got tired of the grapefruit. I am afraid that by next week or so I'll hate it again. Anyway I ordered the Citristate because I figured grapefruit works with my body.

I want to take both. Just in case I can't gulf down the grapefruit it would still be in my system because of the Citristat. Any thoughts?

Sorry so long....

i don't think the extra grapefruit will hurt you. i hate the taste of it so i shoot the juice. you only need a half a grapefruit or 4oz of juice before you eat. i use the little dixie bathroom cups as a "shot glass". another member told be to drink the oceanspray grapefruit juice. they said it taste better. if it hard to fit this into your schedule..i'd try some of these. i hope they help.
*don't forget your breakfast
grapefruit, eggs, bacon
*buy the small cans of grapefruit juice to bring to work. when you have a quick lunch break, you will have it. try bringing tuna and small cans of fruit. just make sure you eat enough.
*although you should not eat supper so late, i think you will be ok, as long as you don't snack between your meals.
*just don't go right to bed after you eat. try to burn off alittle energy. clean alittle house, do a small workout, anything like that....

i hope some of this will help you. bye

hi- just wondering where I can get information on the mayo, I have never heard of this. What do I need to do to start? I need to lose 30 pounds, I have always been tiny like in size 3 and 5 even after I had two kids. My third child I had to take 25 steriod shots with him and I want to get to where I was or close to it. I started today the southbeach diet. Please help me.

Good luck Ali. Hey JP, thanks for the hints. I may have to try the cans. I think I'll start back up on the Citristat. It curbs the appetite also.
