Has anyone heard of or tried this advanced weight loss compound stuff? I think it has zotrin in it and I saw it at a GNC last week. Just curious..

I have not heard of it. However, I would love to learn more. I am really looking for something to suppliment my excercise that is not dangerous to take. I work out 5 days a week, with at least a half hour of cardio and I am still not getting to where I want to be. Any ideas or more info. would be much appreciated.

sbp .. Did you see results for awhile when you first started your exercise routine? And those have tapered off? You might find that adding more intensity to your 30 minute workouts or making your 30 minute workouts a little longer will help. Or, if you can't work out longer with your current schedule, adding a second 30 minute workout later in the day.
Also, if you're only doing cardio, sometimes lifting weights will really help.
I realize this doesn't answer the original question exactly, but I hope that helps.
As far as weight loss compound, I haven't heard of it. What are the active ingredients?

Thanks for the reply....I saw some intitial results in terms of overall body shape. But still I am unhappy with my stomache and my chest to a certain degree. In terms of intensity for cardio, what do you suggest? My cardio is usually 35 mins on a stair climber.
I also lift weights as well. Mostly dumbell with an excercise ball.
Any suggestions for a different workout? Or any other ideas? Thanks again!

anything made by klien becker is
1. way, way, way, way, way overpriced
2. low quality ingredients and formulations
3. packaged really pretty
zotrin is a SCAM. its just a trademark. it is not a patent. which they imply in their advertising.
you can get a lot better stuff WAY cheaper.
btw- just something to think about. if the ephedra were actually dangerous the FDA would pull it, the reason they have not is that they will lose in court because there is no evidence that its dangerous. all the pressure is coming from the DEA because ephedra is used to make methamphetamine. If you die of dehydration and you were taking ephedra, ephedra did not kill you, dehydation did. If you actually read the reports they all say linked, which means that the persons were taking ephedra. want to know how many thousand people die each year from, directly caused by, taking prescribed amounts of tylenol? a hell of a lot more than those just "linked" with ephedra.

sbp - Can you use a different cardio machines? Like, use the treadmill one day, use the elliptical one day, use the stairmaster one day? If not, do you currently use the "programs" on the stairmaster or do you just climb at the same speed?
Our bodies are pretty cool machines. If you follow the same exercise routine for very long, they adapt and then burn fewer calories for the same activity. That just means that you have to change things up every so often.
For changes, add more time, or another session. Or, make the workout harder by incorporating intervals or really hard cardio with less difficult periods. As an example, you'd run for 2 minutes, walk 1 minute for recovery. As far as the weight routine you're doing now, perhaps trying some new moves that target the same muscles. Or a different split?
About ephedra - the FDA is now going to require warning labels on ephedra-containing supplements. I saw a release on CNN. Ephedra-containing products make up 1% of the supplement purchases, but 64% of the complaints about supplements. Its not something to mess with without really doing some intense research and checking with a doctor that you do not have conditions that could be made worse by using this stimulant.
Now, cocacola girl, thats not to say that you shouldn't use the weight loss compound you're talking about. I don't know anything about it. But be careful if it contains ephedra - just pay close attention to how you feel and discontinue use if you have any discomfort!

from the CDC
Acetaminophen, which is used safely by millions of people, is also thought to kill about 100 each year and result in the hospitalization of about 2,000 for liver toxicity

spb30, I use hydroxycut right now. Yes it has ephedra, which my body handles fine. I feel the same as if I didn't even take it, except I don't crave the normal junk food I used to when I take it.
As far as ephedra being so harmful, so are nicotine, alcohol, pot, aspirine, ibuprofen, and many other things that kills thousands each year. Why doesn't the fda worry about regualting cigarettes a little more in public since they kill way more than ephedra ever could.

The reason that ephedra is being targetted is kids. If athletes are taking the stuff and getting an edge then kids who are trying to be like these awesome athletes will use it too. These kids don't follow the labels and may have other risks they don't know yeat and that is where the danger is. Otherwise adults get a use at your own risk like everything else in life.

Thanks cocacola....what has your experience been with hydrocycut? I am curious.
What is your workout regime like? What are your goals and have you achieved them with hydroxycut?
Cheers! SBP

sbp, I have lost a substantial amount of weight with hydroxycut, but only b/c it makes me not eat as much. I did still hit the gym about 4-5 days a week. It would just help when I got home because I would crave junk and salt and all that stuff. And it help me lose those cravings. It does work very well, but it also contains ephedra which some people don't handle very well. It never really seemed to bother me (the ephedra). I think I lost about 50lbs or so with it.
I am a runner, so my workout for cardio would normally be running/walking 5 miles 3 days a week. Walking is just as effective if not more b/c you can do it for longer. Sometimes I would replace the running with a cycling class. Also, I would lift weights 2-3 nights a week or instead of that if I got bored (dont laught at this!) I would do my buns/abs of steel tapes (old but affective).
Now if I could motivate myself to get back to the gym that would be awesome. My excuse is that I moved and it's too far away. But the new one is opening in about a month, so come April I will have no more excuses!
Hope that helps!

That helps alot cocacola. 50 lbs is really impressive...congrats! Would you say you have reached your target weight yet and you are in the process of maintaining now? I am curious about that. How long did it take to lose the 50lbs?
I am happy with my overall weight now -- 180lbs/5'11' However, I would love to lose that little bit around my stomache. Everything else I am pretty happy with. Perhaps hydroxycut would help. I am going to look into it at lunch. Thanks!!!

I am 5'7" and about 129 or so so I think I am right where I need to be, maintaining.
I only take hydroxycut at certain times of the month when I am feeling like I need salt or something bad. Sometimes I will even give in and have the junk. I can't deprive myself all of the time.
I know GNC has it for 39.99 for middle size bottle (lasts about 20 days or so), smallest bottle is 22.99, lasts about 14 days. Walmart and Riteaid also have it for a little cheaper, but the bottles are smaller.

I forgot to say how long it took. I started in August of 99 and lost it all by Jan. 2000, about 1/2 year or so and I am still at the same weight I was in Jan 2000.

Thanks again!

It took me about 6 months. Ane I am still at my initial target weight. Right now, this is the only website other than fitday.com that I use.
Fitday is a calorie counter.

I know that Zotril is the trademark that Zotrin uses, but I haven't heard anything other than that. How did you find this out?

Wanna know something even funnier? After taking diet pills for so long, I am now almost back to where I started to begin with. I am now trying to once again lose weight.
I think everyone is right when they say to change your eating habits. Diet pills may be a quick fix, not a permanent solution.
