I want to get in shape before school starts. First of all im 16 years old im 5'1' 1/2 and weigh 110, and i ware a size 5. BUT ive never had a flat stomach i mean i have rolls and not little ones and i have cellulite and i have never had a space between my legs. I fell so bad sometimes ive even tryed throwing up my food but i couldnt, any way if i do low impact arobics, HTS abs, 40 lunges, 20 squats, and only eat vegtables, fruit and drink water and green tea, do you think i'll get in shape in like 30 days. Or how long do you think it will take, thanks any comments/answeres will be apprciated.

Well, you probably just need to tone up... you cannot spot reduce... you really need to be eating healthy (low fat, reduce the unhealthy carbs, no sugary stuff, etc), increase your water intake if you are not getting enough... most importantly, what are you doing for exercise now? Try to get about 20-40 minutes of cardio at least 3-4 days per week... you should do more than just lunges and squats... you should be working different body parts each day... like arms and back, legs, chest and shoulders, etc. The more muscle you build, the more fat you will burn. You should do 3-5 sets of 12-20 reps, depending on what body part you are working. You can try the at home videos like the Firm, that give you an all over workout... just get moving, no matter what you do, get moving and it will help... Are you currently vegetarian? You should be getting some protein into your day... you need to find a lifestyle of eating and exercise you can live with... don't set unrealistic goals, just start making an effort everyday to look and feel better... you can do it. You can lose alot of inches in 30 days if you set your mind to it, but you have to stick with it after 30 days. You are young, don't do anything drastic as your body is still growing... you should NEVER throw up your food... people die from bulemia and anorexia. You need to learn healthy eating habits and exercise habits, and stick with them, as you get older it will not be as easy to keep weight off, so learning the healthy habits now will help. Good luck!

Hey Kitty,
Hang on there, girl! 5'1" and 110 pounds is nowhere near overweight. And I don't know anyone who would call a size 5 fat!! Especially at your age (and I know you've probably heard this a million times, but it's true), it's really easy to develop a warped view of how your body looks and how you think it should look. But I promise, just because you have some curves does NOT mean you are fat! Neither does cellulite. Some of the thinnest, teeniest people I know have cellulite.
Your exercise plan sounds okay, but please do not try to survive on fruits and veggies alone!! You've gotta get some protein in there, and there are plenty of good, low-fat protein sources. A crash diet like that will throw your body into major starvation mode and could end up being really dangerous. Instead of trying to lose weight by dieting, why not focus on eating in a very healthy and balanced way? Then you won't throw your metabolism out of whack, you'll feel much better, and you won't risk disrupting your body's development (which could cause really severe health problems later in life!) Fruits and veggies are important to a good diet, but they simply can't give your body everything it needs to function. If you read through these boards, you can get some really good ideas of other nutritious, low-fat foods and how people use them to balance their diets.
You are at the perfect age to start developing really good eating and exercising habits, so good for you for thinking about that now! But I would really recommend not doing anything as drastic as you propose. If you are really serious about wanting to lose weight, please ask your doctor first and get help on a safe way to do so. And above all, please take care of yourself by listening to your body!! Best of luck.
