Recognised your name on post. Maybe you could break the weight down into 10lb lots, then you are reaching a goal everytime you lose that amount of weight, that would help re-build your self esteem. Or perhaps you could 'know' that you are a 'new person' from the one that gained the weight cos you are now taking the much more positive step of trying to lose it?! Hope the injury is better. We are here to support you.

Hi sileshadow!
I'm sorry to hear that you were injured at work. I hope you are on the road to recovery.
I totally agree with setting small goals for yourself rather than looking at the 85 lbs all at once. Maybe you'd like to join the summer challenge? A bunch of us post there daily. It's very simple: you choose the method you're going to use to lose weight, and set yourself a realistic goal that you're going to try to reach by August 31. Post on the summer challenge threads daily or as often as you can - tell us about how your day is going, if you need inspiration, have any questions, or just need to vent. It's a great group of people who are all trying to do this together. C'mon and join us!
I am also someone who has tried lots of different diets and several different pills. I think that the hardest part of dieting is just finding out what works for you. You have to find something that you know you can stick with permanently, or else you'll gain the weight back. Personally, I count calories during the week & do exercise videos several times per week. It's working for me, but may or may not for you. You have to take a look at the kinds of foods you like and the amount you're eating, then use that info to help determine where you can cut back.
Has anyone recommended Fitday to you? It's a free online program for keeping track of your foods, weight, exercise, etc. Just do a search for it & you'll find it. It's a really great tool, and I always tell people about it because someone here recommended it to me and I love it. It can really open your eyes to the foods you're eating & the nutrients you're getting. Check it out!
Hope some of this info is helpful. YOU CAN DO THIS as long as you are motivated and set realistic goals. You've come to the right place for help! Hope to see you on the summer challenge!
:)
