View Full Version : The Firm Systems --- Which one should I get?

I am having trouble deciding on which system to get (the one w/the fanny lifter or the newest one that just came out with the sculpting stick).

I get about 20mins of exercise everyday on my stationary exercise bicycle, and I play tennis some, but I'm not fit at all.

I don't want to lose weight much (I'd like to lose about 15lbs though, I currently weigh 139 at 5'4") but I mainly want to lose inches, be toned, be more muscular and tight, and have abs. But I don't want to be bulky like those women bodybuilders either.

Can anyone help me? Much thanks to anyone who can help :)

Hey hun! Good luck with your goals! You can do it! I just got the fanny lifter set. Ive only done it a few times so far, but boy can i FEEL it! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif I would reccomend it to anyone! But I have never done the one with the stick, so that might even be better!
Take care and Good Luck

I have both and they are both awesome. The first is a little easier but still it works you hard. Once you do one of their tapes your gonna want them all. So I would suggest going with the first system and then when you get that down and your board with it get the other one. The FIRM will totally sculpt you. Goodluck and have fun.

Hi woodahs,

Just thought I'd mention that I recently bought the set that has the fanny lifter and 3 videos (ab sculpt, body sculpt & cardio sculpt). I have tried each video once so far, and really like these workouts. If you read the thread called "Summer Weight Loss Challenge 22" you'll see some specific points I mentioned about the exercises. Overall I think they're going to be a great addition to my routine. I have never used the sculpting stick so I can't give you any info on that, but I do recommend the fanny lifter. Good luck, and let us know how you like The Firm!

I have them both too, and I have to say the new one is so much better than the first one. It is harder but I think it works alot better too, and it's more fun.

liquidstar, how many videos come with the new one? And what else comes with it, just the sculpting stick or is there other equipment also? I'm going to stick with the fanny lifter set for now since I just got it and really enjoy it, but I'm sure at some point I'll want to advance to the other set. Thanks!

You should go for the set with the sculpting stick, then buy just the videos from the first set.

Why? Because the 6 videos offer a great variety and the sculpting stick is a great tool for balancing yourself while you are learning some of the moves. It can be incorporated into any of the videos once you get an idea of its usefulness.

I currently own both video sets and am trying to get more. Ordering from Firm Direct is a huge gamble - their customer service is SO disorganized, and orders take 6-8 weeks to process. Collage is much faster.

Thanks for all the input. I just bought the 4 Firm videos from ebay (cardio, ab, body sculpt & hips, buns, thighs) with the rotation guide and calendar, but without the fanny lifter. Does anyone know what i could use in place of the fanny lifter? I'm thinking of using books (I have tons of books).

I think after I get sculpted ( :D), I'll buy the new system and sculpting stick.

Woodahs,

Congrats on your purchase! I don't think books would be a good substitute for the fanny lifter, unless you can somehow make sure the stack wouldn't fall when you're stepping up & down. I really wouldn't recommend it, you might get hurt! I saw some people selling just the fanny lifter on ebay, and also there were some who made homemade ones out of wood & sold them on ebay. Maybe you could buy one without the videos, or build your own? Or you could see if Wal-mart has step stools of a similar size. In case you don't know, the 2 pieces of the fanny lifter are 6" & 8", and they stack together to make 14". Whatever you use, make sure it's something that won't fall apart during your workout. We don't want you to end up in the hospital!

Thanks for all this information on the Firm tapes. I have the Power 90 tapes (two sets) and I don't like them very much. I'm sure they are effective, but they are DULL. First, there is no music and because of this, I think, it is hard to follow the leader because he does not seem to have a rhythm. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if anyone did them for 90 days, they would see a dramatic difference, but I just think I may like the Firm tapes better.
