I really want to lose 2 pounds a week.
I will be doing it by eating 1200 calories a day and exercising for 30 minutes a day,at least, for 15 weeks.
I think I have read all the threads on this board and everyone is so supportive. I really need to do this and hope a few of you might like too as well.
I am 38 have 4 children and would like to get down to the weight I was when I got married for my 15th anniversary, which co-incidentally is in 15 weeks.

I am seriously interested in joining you in losing 15 lbs! My good news is I exercise regularly. My bad news is I'm hungry ALL OF THE TIME and can't seem to stop snacking. I lost 20 lbs several years ago by doing the cabbage soup diet. I don't think I can handle that torture again but may consider it if I can't find a reasonable and effective alternative.

I'm addicted to Coca-Cola and am allergic to NutraSweet. My weight just keeps balloning. I've gone from 125 to 200. How can I make myself stop drinking this stuff? I just drink more and more.Anyone ever have this problem? I would love to take part in the challenge, but my soda would go over the 1200 calorie limit. HELP!!!

Andrea is inviting you all to join in the "Summer Weight Loss Challenge #___ ; the # of the challenge changes daily and coincides with the day of the month. "Summer Weight Loss Challenge #22" (which is today)
You can check in there daily, if you'd like, and she is right, there is an AWESOME group of supporters on that thread! :round: If it wasn't for them, I don't think, in fact I know, I would NOT have come this far and that's the truth.
Fortunately, for all of us who report in to this thread daily, Andrea changes it daily, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif as she is MUCH more organized than I, and thus it makes it easier for all of us to find!

Seems like I started this then disappeared SORRY! One of those unavoidable family crisis.
Laxhoty I need all the support you can offer, and if you need to lose weight too hopefully we will be able to do it together. Are you on a diet at the moment? If so which one? And is it working?
Italian Princess CONGRATULATIONS! A wedding one of the best reasons of all to lose weight. Bet you are excited, keep us informed about whats going on? Looking at my wedding video was what made me decide to lose this weight.
andrea thankyou! Will visit you regularly.
Microelvis You have joined in! Welcome, which diet are you trying?
Gail from Mozambique I know the feeling, the more I exercise the more I want(need) to eat. I now need to lose the weight! Is Mozambique beautiful? Which diet are you going to try?
Siwash COKE YUMMO! I used to drink it like my life depended on it, so I know what you mean. 7am first glass-10pm last glass (with as many as I could drink in between those times) I then started having a glass of water after every coke and that slowed it down a bit. Eventually though I became addicted to coffee (so it must be the caffeine)and still am, at least it isn't so fattening. Try the water, I think I gave up the coke cos I couldn't face drinking another glass of water after-aversion therapy.
Sileshadow Hi! another cola fiend. Carbonated water is a great idea, I used to hate the 'coke bloat'and pain associated. It's one of the good things about not drinking it anymore. Which diet are you on?
Whirl Thanks and will see you there!
Shall we start tomorrow/Tuesday? And get weighed every Wednesday- that gives us time to make up for any weekend 'accidents' and gives us an 8 day start.
My biggest problem is 'bed time munchies' has anyone any ideas for low fat but filling food (that tastes like and resembles chocolate or cake?lol)
I am losing weight as a gift to myself, cos I will be healthier but best of all look and feel better. What's everyone elses motivation?

Callie 50. Hi! Lovely to meet you. From everything I have read 2lb seems the safest weekly goal,as far as losing weight and keeping it off goes. How much do you need to lose? Which diet will you be using? I think the weight loss challenge is fantastic too!

Hey! speaking of the soda thing, I have that major problem too. What i have managed to try to do is bring myself to drink diet pepsi instead of regular. That has 0 calories and although it doesn't taste as good as the regular stuff, I'm slowly adjusting. I'm hoping that will help a little. :) good luck!

Hey I've joined the summer weight loss challenge, but am also aiming at 2lbs a week. We are going on a 7 day cruise due to set sail on September 13th, would love to lose 20-25 lbs by then, but would be happy with 10-15. I lost 30lbs last year, gained back 8, and I am making a new fresh start. Doing lowfat/lowcal, and trying to lower carbs. Working out every day either riding bike or walking. I think it will be harder this time around, definitely the weight will come off slower.
Good Luck to every one!!

Hi Sue! Nice to meet you too. Yeah, 2 pounds a week is the most you're supposed to lose. I've done a lot of yo-yo dieting in the past and I think I'm paying for it. I gained 80 pounds with my last pregnancy and no matter what I do...I lose and gain it back. I'm having a terrible time. But I am now, finally committed to doing this and doing it the best way I can.
I need to lose 50 pounds to get to where I will be happy with myself. I work out at Bally's club 5 days a week and I'm taking Xenedrine EFX (I'm desperate). As of today my scale says I'm down 4 pounds from last Monday. It could be water weight. I WILL be buying a new scale as soon as possible. Good luck to you and keep us all posted!

Well today is the day.....Our start....The beginning of our new lives.....oh cut the cr*p and pass me the chocolate.lol
Hi Tanya: thanks for the encouragement!
Shel 1974: Congratulations on the weight loss! Even with the 8lb's you have put back on you are still 22lb's in front! 7 day cruise? I wanna come, I wanna come! I think you will manage 10-15lb's easily with your diet plan.
Callie: Big congrats on the 4lb's since Monday! The pregnancy thing UGH! After my last one I had accumulated 40lb's (10lb's with each of them) sort of wrestle it off, put it back on- neverending yoyo! But we are both commited to doing something about it which is the main thing.
IBHAPPY: You go girl! And take us with you! Even your username is a morale booster! I have the feeling you will have no problem losing 15lb's and changing your eating habits! Which diet are you going with?
Hermione: Don't know for certain that 1200 calories and 30 minutes exercise a day guarantees 2lb's for everyone, but last time I (and my friends) did it we lost between 2-4lb's a week. So hopefully it will work for you too. We will give you loads of encouragement and know you can lose your 20lb's before you go back to school. Congratulations on your happy start to a new life. I think with all that gym you will be very healthy looking too, with no wobbly bits!heehee!

went to the gym today, did 30 min on treadmill, with about 1/2 being running, 1/2 fast walking. then i did about 20 min with the weight machines. feelin good!!! woohoo!! tee hee

I've been away from the computer - this is still going on...? Its 1200 calories a day and only 30 minutes a day of exercise? Aerobic or will pilates count, or only supplement cardio?
No total # glassses of water?
Any updates appreciated! I really want to do this too!
Thanks,

If you cut out just one soda a day, you can lose 12 pounds a year... so think about cutting out all of your soda!!! Replace it with water, it is tough... but it really will help take off the weight, keep you from having carb cravings and keep you from binging so much...When I first started losing weight, all I did was cut out soda, lost 10 lbs in the first month, then added exercise and started eating healthy and lost the rest... but it makes a huge difference!!! I do like my crystal light now on occasion, and I don't mind the 10 calories I get from it... way better than the hundreds I was getting from soda!!! You get over the cravings for sodas after about a week.... good luck :D

Yesterday(Tuesday) went well....but have decided to use the apple cider vinegar/honey cocktail before every meal. I am going to pull out all the stops and try everything. Hope you all had a great day.
Hermione: No fear of the wobbly bits with that sort of work out! STAR!
Shel: I know, how many times do we stop and start? This time though I want to get into some sort of routine I enjoy and can stick too.. sick to death of the yoyo dieting and exercise routine. Have decided I will do 2 days of 1200 calories a week and 4 days of 30+ minutes exercise when I have lost this weight and stick to it. What exercise are you doing?
Microelvis:1200 cals is what I am doing, you do whatever you like, although it's nice when someone else is doing the same cos you can swop ideas. I usually drink 8 glasses of water a day. Exercise wise last time it was walking, gym or swimming but I did a few yoga classes (sweaty kind)and did well on those days so you could just give pilates a try and see if the scales and/or tape measure are happy with the idea.
GoinCruisin: Makes you think doesn't it? My youngest put one of his baby teeth in a glass of coke(after he had extracted money from the tooth fairy)and the coke ate it away to nothing in 3 days, sort of like the way dentists eat your bank account lol, that convinced me..Congratulations on losing your weight. Are you going cruising or have you been?

hey everyone!!! well let's see... i was 154 yesterday morning, which was a happy 2.5 lb loss for the week!!! i had a binge this morning, though. eek! i had 2 bowls of cereal AND 2 eggo waffles!! and i wasn't even hungry!!! AAAHHHH!!!! but it was my first mess up in a full week, so i'm kinda ok with it. plus i'm going to a kickboxing class tonight ;c) woohoo!! haha. i'm getting better at running, too!! not phenomenal, but i can tell a slight improvement each time i get on the treadmill. monday i could only last 8 min at 5.5 mph then slowed down to 5.0 mph until 10 min, then i had to fast walk for a bit. but yesterday i did 5.5 mph for 13 min!! woohoo!!! that's what i've been doing, a big chunk of running at first, then i do intervals for the rest of the 35 min: usually 2 or 3 min walking, then 3 or 4 running. i'm babbling, i'm sorry. tee hee.
OH!!! and i saw a friend that i hadn't seen for about a month, and she was like "look at you! you've lost weight!!" aww i love her! haha. and i don't even feel like i have!! i mean its only been 4 lbs. but i've been working out a lot, so maybe i'm gaining muscle... hopefully i'll just keep shrinking!! tee hee!!!

My exercise routine on a good day consists of 5-6 miles (20-25 min) on my bike in the morning, stomach crunches, and then at night a 2 mile walk. Remember that's a good day!!! Lately I haven't been getting my walk in at night. I also haven't been able to get in the full swing of eating right, but I know I just have to 'feel it' and there is only 86 days until my cruise and according to fitday I need to lose 1.8 lbs a week to be at my goal by then!!! I wore my bikini for the first time yesterday since last summer, that was a good incentive! lol...

Oh yeah, just started Dexatrim Natural today too. Used it for a bit last year......didn't do much, but thought I'd give it a try. I don't really like to use diet aids, just because I am paranoid about side effects, I have a bit of anxiety and worry about things like that.

i like dexatrim natural. it doesn't make me all jittery. i don't use it all the time, only when i know i'm gonna be tempted really badly during the day!! haha. but my mom used it last summer... or during the winter, i think... maybe winter of '00-'01. anyway, she lost 20 lbs with it, and its the only thing that's ever helped her. she'd been trying for many many years.
so i have a question... what's a way to find out the amount of calories needed to "maintain" weight?? cuz i've done a few calculators that said for me its about 1550, but now all the ones i've been doing recently say to take into account your "lifestyle", which i say to be "moderate" activity, and its like 2100?? i'm so confused, which is right?? cuz then *technically* i could simply eat 1100 cals per day and lose 2 a week without even exercising. i wouldn't wanna do that, though, cuz lasting results are with exercise and firming up... but is that true? i should be eating 2100 if i wanted to maintain?? (not that i want to, i just need a number to subtract my actual eaten calories from to find out a rough estimate of how much i can expect to lose per week..wow, am i still talking? sorry. haha)

Love your name Hermione! My whole family is addicted to the Harry Potter books. (I'm assuming that's where you got the name.)
Anyway, I go to Ballys's and they told me that you need to know what your resting metabolic rate is. That's how many calories you burn each day doing nothing at all. They basically determine how many calories you can eat per day from that. You need to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight and eat the same amount of calories you burn to maintain weight. I don't know if that's right or wrong, but that's the info they gave me.
I'm down another 3 pounds. How is everyone doing? Great I hope!

Hi, I want to do this too - this is a top priority for me - Had been going along fine - that got stalled - I am 5' 8" and 182 - want to get to 153 - started around 190
Thanks for the info about Sodas -
One thing I like that works is an Algae type cocktail in the morning - supplies vits, minerals, and protein, easy to digest, and kills the appetite for a good 4 hours.
I like the idea of doing 3o mins of aerobics daily -
I am going away Sun for 4 days to the beach - so will try to jog if I get over the cold. My friends are very hyper, so I think I will burn up calories just being around them -
Well, I will post again when I come back on Thursday the 3rd, if not before
thanks

I am new. I have been seriously counting calories and exercising since May 15. I have lost 14 pounds and 4 inches from my waist. I still have about 48 pounds to go to my goal, but I am setting 10 pound incremental goals. I am losing about 2 pounds a week and it has been relatively pain free. My focus is on lifestyle. I know that word has been played out over and over, but what I am doing is something I can do for the rest of my life. I am consuming between 1400 and 1800 calories a day. I have basically eliminated white food excep the occaisional very small baked potato. I am not using any butter, margerine or hydrogenated vegetable oils. I am only using olive oil and cannola oil for fats. I am eating 6 vegetables and 4 fruits each day. I have also increased my fish consumption to 5 a week and only eat red meat for very, very special occaisions. As far as exercising... I walk 4-6 miles every single day rain or shine. I do 30 minutes of tae bo or yoga every other day and I do resistance training on the days I am not doing cardio or yoga. I estimate that I burn 800 calories a day on average just from structured exercise. So, I am finding that even if I eat 1800 calories, I am still losing. I have also found that if I am doing all of that hard exercise, I really think twice about some of the junk I would normally put in my mouth.

Hermione, It is difficult to get all of those vegetables in. Luckily it is summer and I love fresh veggies. I mainly eat them all raw. Broccoli, carrots, zuccini, sugar snap pease, I use Kale and Spinach in salads and I love those sauteed with olive oil and garlic. Anyway, grilled veggies are awesome too. I read an article on my MSN sign in page about the paradox of the medditeranian diet. Very high in fats, but the fat is mainly olive oil. But, the greeks (who were the topic of this particular article) eat about a pound of vegetables per day per person. That is a ton compared to Americans. The protien is mainly fish and there is not a lot of refined sugars. I think the hardest thing about all if this is not eating the prepared junk food. I was a junk food a-holic. Not really McDonalds or anything like that, I love Brownies, Rita's Italian Ice, Freshetta Southwest Chicken Pizza, Buffalo Wings with blue cheese, etc. mmmm making myself hungry. But, I digress. My point is it is hard to eat all of that stuff if you are filled on veggies.

Hey Emptynester! Congratulations! You're doing really great.
Hermione: My husband and I were out there at midnight. We just wanted to check out the action. I loved all the people walking around in cloaks. We picked up our book first thing the next morning. Just finished the book last night. We have no idea what we're going to do for the next two years while we wait for the next book.

wow, a lb of veggies per day?! goodness gracious! i can't even fathom that much!!! haha. one of my goals is to live in italy... even if its only for a short while... i just really want to live there... the beautiful land, the delicious foods, the healthy lifestyle, and heck the gorgeous men ;c) haha. but yeah i know what you mean, its easier to eat veggies in the summer, i too looooovvee yellow squash. mm!! and asparagus! and cooked broccoli, i'm not a fan of it raw.
<<sniffle>> i know, how am i going to wait so long for the next book?? this is terrible!!! i just finished it today. all my friends were actually very surprised that i wasn't done within two days of getting it, but the truth is, i HAD to stretch it out, cuz i knew as soon as i finished i'd be so sad cuz of the long wait for the next one. but alas! the stretch only lasted one week. AAAHHHH!!! haha. but i hear the 3rd movie comes out in december. the 3rd book is my fave (well, now the 5th one is, but hey). so we have that to look forward to!! haha

The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite because it gave Harry someone who was like a father. Well we know what happens next......so....
I wanted to stretch the book out but we wanted so badly to get to the meat of it we kept reading chapter after chapter as fast as we could. Now it's over and we all have (in Hagrid's accent) withdrawerl.
Can't wait for the movie.

Hi, I know I'm late finding this group, but can I join too? I'm in Australia and we're on a different time zone but I'll try to keep up with the posts.
First off, let me explain that when I joined these bb's, I joined the epilepsy bb and was rather miffed (hence the screen name). Anyway, I can't change it so please forgive me, I'm not trying to bring negative vibes to this group.
Anyway, I am 27 years old, 3 kids ages 4, 2, and 6mo. My highest weight was 145kilos and now I'm down to 133. I have also lost 22cm in the past 2 weeks. I am doing Advanced Tae Bo-Get Ripped daily as well as stretching daily. I use 2.5kilo free weights 3 days a week. Sometimes I'm motivated to do more. I don't count calories but I've cut out soda and junk food. I eat every 3 hrs or so. I have a snack in between meals. I drink 3200ml of water a day. So far my weight loss isn't significant, but my dh keeps saying how much my stomach has sucked in and my legs are getting toned. I suppose that's good enough. I still have a long way to go but I am finally determined and this is the best I've ever done trying to lose weight. I could sure use some motivation to make sure I keep going. Good luck to you ladies.

It's never too late to join!! Welcome!!
Well I've finally decided (with encouragement from friends) to start low carbing!!! Last year I did lowfat/low cal and lost 30lbs, but I am really having trouble sticking to it this time. Exercise is not a problem for me, but food is. I have a lot of problems with yeast infections and I've heard that low carb decreases this. So today is my first day. I am NOT doing atkins, just lowering my carbs, I think to under 60, and trying to stick with my 1200 calories. And try and keep my fat low, which I know is hard to do with low carbing, but we'll see how it goes.
So I have not lost any weight since I joined this board.....lol.......(my fault)
Good luck to everyone else.

I've lost 5 that I gained while eating on the go, breakfast at McDonalds, no meat mcmuffin...good but holy cow, what a stupid lesson! So I haven't been counting really, but I'm trying to eat healthy and I've been super busy with homework and family that I haven't done the 30 minutes, but will start tommorrow. Will hopefully ride the 5lb momentum!
How does everyone count their calories? Is it 30 minutes 7x a week?
Thanks!

Hey guys!
I didn't stick to my diet or exercise plan 100% last week. AF is coming and she's messing with my willpower. I only lost 1-2 pounds. I knew losing 4 last week would get my hopes up too much. In any event, I never seem to lose a thing with AF around so I will just try not to gain any. Arggghhh! This is such a hard fight. How's everybody doing out there?

I am still trying to loose weight, but I don't think I can do 2 pounds per week at this point. I have already lost about 23 since the middle of April. It came off fast at first, and now it's not budging. :( :(
Any ideas about how to start loosing again? The chocolate cake and ice cream I had today probably isn't helping. :(
I do work out a lot- I walk (almost) every morning and then do another form of exercise after work and lift weights every other day. All this and I am not loosing!!
I am currently 133 and 5'5". I would like to loose about 8 more pounds- to 125.

microelvis- McDonalds MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!I carry a calorie counter (book) with me but have sort of learnt the values of most common foods. Yes 30 minutes a day exercise. I was very lucky with the 5 lbs probably cos I haven't dieted in a while. Know you can do it!
Callie- Know you are going to think I am the stupidest person in the universe but who or what is AF? But 5-6lbs in 2 weeks is FANTASTIC! You sound a bit down, we love you.
Shel-Great attitude,1 bad week doesn't dictate the rest of your life! We know you will be going for it this week.
Froggie-FANTASTIC.... 23pounds since April! Chocolate cake and ice cream yum yum yum! At least with the exercise you are maintaining instead of putting weight back on. Do you think you have reached a plateau or lost motivation? It's only 8 more lbs! You can do it,we know you can.
I am having to fight off the lure of a Big Mac-McDonalds is less than half a mile away, have promised myself a cheeseburger on Saturday if I have lost 2 more lbs. Anyone else having CRAVINGS?

McDonald's sounds REALLY good right now, but I will fight it.
Sue- I think it's both a plateau and loss of motivation. I am ready to get back on the wagon, though. I think I needed a break. At least I didn't gain anything.
My new goal- loose 8 pounds by Aug. 1!!!!
Hope you are all having a good day! Fight those cravings!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

ha ha, AF is usually used for the abbreviation of 'Aunt Flo', meaning she's menstruating or she's coming or whatever. :-) I use that term all the time too.
I am feeling much better today and did great with my food yesterday....I am going to try and not get on the scales until Friday!! With this holiday weekend coming up it'll be so hard to be good.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Thanks Sue! No, you're not stupid. I picked up the abbreviation AF/aunt flo for my period from a forum a while back, I didn't know what it was either. THANK YOU FOR THE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT..THEY ARE NEEDED AND APPRECIATED.
I am a little down because I weighed myself in the middle of the week and had lost another 3 pounds, and got lazy. I have to get over that first week of 4 pounds and settle in for the long hard fight.
I crave sweet stuff like cake and cookies all the time. McDonald's Quarter Pounders with cheese, fries, and vanilla shakes had a LOT to do with my weight gain too. I think my body is 20% McDonald's.
Congrats to everybody who's losing and step away from the fries to those that aren't.

I was looking at how much I want to loose and my goal date, and I guess that IS 2 pounds per week. I didn't realize I had that much to loose. GRRR.
I am HUNGRY right now, but I will fight it and wait till after my workout to eat.
I have been good today- Breakfast: sugar-free wheat breat w/peanut butter, nonfat cottage cheese, apple, bacon; Snack: some strawberries; lunch: 2 slices turkey breat deli meat and a smoothie I made (plain yogurt, raspberries, and splenda). I also had a Slim Pop a little while ago. It was good, but I am hungry now, and it's supposed to be an appetite suppressant. Oh well. For dinner, I am planning chicken breast with broccoli and cauliflower.
Well, gotta get some work done before I leave at 5. :)

Can I jump in here too guys??? Losing 2 pounds a week seems reasonable to me and I think that it will be easier for me to work on than going for "the main goal". I've been so preoccupied with how much I want to lose total; that i've basically given up on myself at times. I don't really have an enormous amount to lose--25 pounds roughly; but when you yo-yo between the same 5 pounds constantly--it becomes frustrating. So, I've decided to take it a few pounds at a time.
Cravings??? I wish I could say that I don't get them. LOL Truth be told--they have been consuming me lately. And I've been giving into them; which is why I'm so frustrated with myself to begin with. Then I decided that enough was enough. Don't know why-------------maybe it's divine intervention; but one saying keeps going through my mind lately.......
"God helps them who help themselves...." Kinda got me thinking that I haven't exactly been holding myself accountable for all the cheating I've been doing lately. So, I'm starting anew--and though it's been only a few days; I'm feeling more positive about it. Still having cravings but I'm learning to divert myself from then.
So, "she says after rambling" if you'll have me--I'd love to be part of this group! I know we're all in the summer challenge, but it doesn't hurt to work toward some smaller goals on the way!!

Froggie-A change is as good as a holiday. Hard to stay motivated if you had reached a plateau, 8pounds by Aug 1st? NO WORRIES!
Shel- Aunt Flo tehetehe, I take the bc pill continuously nowadays (no more pms or bloat)but will find a reason to say it anyway, it's much better than the euphenisms(sp)used in Aus. Glad you are feeling better, ENJOY the weekend and try to be good(ish)!
Callie-YOU CAN DO IT- Another 3 pounds?!Well done! So you slipped- It doesn't matter! You are still doing brilliantly and picking up and starting again.
LOL 20% McDonalds- me too! Wish they would come round and take it back (you would see an awful lot of McDonalds lipo-suction trucks on the road)! NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS you are SO right!
Froggie-Yummy I want to come to your house to eat! I want one of your smoothies (getting the ingredients today, love raspberries) You have been good and eating healthy too! How did the work out go?
Jennielynn-Welcome. My biggest problem was 'helping myself' usually to 2nd and 3rd helpings(lol), but what you say is true and unless we help (sometimes with a little divine intervention) ourselves(not to a second helping-but to losing weight) no one else will! Summer Challenge is fantastic isn't it. As for the cravings- you have inspired me to resist again today!
I have decided to give up the acv, am getting indigestion for the first time in my life ugh! Has anyone tried the pills? ((((( to you all)))))

Thanks for the warm welcome Sue! I'm really trying hard this time.
I'm taking the ACV pills and I sometimes experience indigestion--though not every time I take them. I take 6- 300 mg. pills 3x per day. I haven't been taking them regularly though and with the way I had been eating--I didn't expect that they would work. I'm going to begin taking them tomorrow so I'll let you know what happens. I just can't bring myself to drink the liquid form--yuck!!! My father-in-law has been taking it every morning for years--though I'mnot exactly sure of the reason why he takes it. I'll stick with the pills, thanx!

Hi Sue, Froggie, Shel, MicroElvis, Lax, Italian Princess, Gail, Siwash, Siles, Whirl, Tanya, IBhappy, Hermione, Goin Cruisin, ArealguyinDC,epilepsysucks, and emptynester!!!!!!! Welcome Jenni!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun and eat well for the holiday but don't overdo it.
It's getting too quiet here. Either:
1. We need to bump this post up. (start a new thread)
2. You're busy posting elsewhere.
3. You're waiting to pop in when you're skinny!
4. YOU'RE TOO BUSY OVEREATING....SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!
SINCE IT'S SO QUIET AND I KNOW READING THE POSTS HELPS ME, I WILL SHARE. I HOPE MORE OF YOU WILL SHARE.
I did slip up last week and regained 2 pounds. Darn. AF got me in a headlock and I cried uncle. I let her put those sweet crackers in my mouth. But I got back in the ring with her and re-lost the 2 pounds. That puts me back on track but I doubt I'll lose any extra this week and I'll have to beat her down to keep from gaining over the weekend.
It's so hard because I'm an emotional eater and I'm bipolar. I eat when I'm up and I eat when I'm down and I go up and down a lot. AF makes me feel like I'm starving and more depressed than ever. I have a lot to lose and I'm disgusted with myself. I used to be the skinny one. I feel like I have more weight to lose than anyone here. I need to lose 50 pounds. Ronald McDonald is the devil. I agree with Jen...I am getting down over how far I have to go. Maybe I need to focus on 10 pounds at a time.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW. I DON'T WANNA BORE OR DEPRESS YOU. SO WILL EVERYONE HERE COME OUT AND SHARE AND WE CAN ALL SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER.

Hi Callie
You are a VERY brave VERY strong person!!!!
My step daughter is BP, we often have our thorny moments (more to do with the family set up than anything)! But I have seen the fights she has to put up so that the BP doesn't overwhelm her, I sort of understand that every day is a battle for you, don't make it too hard with the dieting- 10lb goals are a great idea! Somehow 5 lots of 10lb's sounds better, or maybe even 10 lots of 5lb's? Anyway let us know which you chose so we can support you!
You are doing really well don't let old AF get to you, next month you will beat the old bag(she didn't actually win this month!) And if you don't it won't be for want of trying!
Think we should start a new thread too, this one is way too long!
Promised myself McD's this weekend (just a cheeseburger) haven't had it yet (think it's at the root of most of my weight problems too!)Will try to continue resisting!
Loads of love and hope you are having a great weekend!
Sue

Hey Sue!
Thanks again for the words of encouragement. I'm hanging in there. It helps to have a supportive husband who puts up with my crap. I just have to deal with doing this slowly.
I'd love to have a cheeseburger with you but I'd probably go on a binger.
Being BP sucks especially during that time of the month. How does your daughter deal with it? She's really lucky to have you for a mom. It helps to have someone to lean on when you're tired of holding it together.
I hope you guys are losing the pounds.

Hi Callie!
Seems like we are the only ones left! Shall we continue on as diet "buddies" and if anyone wants to join in they can?
Everyday I resist Mcdonalds I know I have been successful, still haven't had the cheeseburger! Frightened it will start me off on a binge too!
This morning I had muesli (diet) and a banana.
Haven't decided what to have for lunch yet
But probably a LARGE salad sandwich with (diet) cheese slice and a small yoghurt and juice
Dinner is a salmon steak, broccoli, and potato (in skin)
then I just have to get through that after 8pm 'starving feeling' which doesn't really respond to the 2 vita wheat biscuits and vegemite I offer it!
Half the time getting through the day is difficult enough- without adding bi-polar to the mix! You are doing a great job! You deserve a supportive husband, bet he loves you to bits.
When shall we get weighed again? I will be your buddy until you lose your 50lb's if you like.

Hi guys--sorry I haven't posted lately. Things are sure to be super busy this week but I will try my hardest to check in.
My 4th went well. I allowed myself to eat--within reason; but things that I wouldn't normally eat. We did lots of swimming and playing volleyball so I'm sure I burnt all those extra calories off!! I've been doing well with eating since then; staying within my limits. The only thing I'mhaving trouble with is fitting exercise in; and I know it would make a world of difference. I've just got so much to do right now that I'm going from like 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. Who wants to exercise at 11 p.m.? I barely can sleep as it is. I know that the solution would be to get up before 6 and get some exercise--but lately I've been so exhausted--it's a great idea until 5 am rolls around!!!!LOL But, tomorrow morning I'm going to get up & do it. Maybe after a few mornings of dragging my butt out of bed--it will become habit!
I've got so much on my mind lately that when I should be sleeping; I'm thinking of the things that I should be doing! I either need to find a safe, OTC sleep aide or a sledgehammer!!LOL
Well, I must get some other things done so I will be back tomorrow to check in. Hope everyone is hanging in there!

Hey Sue! I'm sure the others are out there lurking somewhere. They may not be posting but the battle of the bulge continues on.
Yes please let's be diet buddies. I will get weighed in at my gym next Saturday. They do your weight, your RMR, and calculate your body fat percentage. Almost half my weight is fat. It's really pathetic.
What you're eating sounds good. Make sure you're drinking lots of water. For me, I need to drink half my body weight in ounces. Whenever I stick to that, I tend to see a pound or two come off.
Talk 2 U soon
