what great news to wake up to AP!!! i'm sooo happy hes ok and coming home. I know, he has injuries, but just like whirl...it could have been so much worse! He is here! and thats all that matters! Thats the power of prayer and positive thoughts! And whew, you have so many friends here supporting that for you!! :) Why do bad things always happen to great ppl??? You just keep getting one thing after another! And keep smiling and supporting US through it all!!! You are such a strong amazing person, I admire you so much! Just had to tell you that. ((((AP))))

Oh, I'm sorry! This is a weightloss board right??? Thought it was a friendship board! :)

Ok, ok, i'll talk about weight! WELL..didnt go to ww last night. Just had some 'stuff' to deal with at home...(everything is fine, no biggie...just thought my time was needed more here, and i was right). No, its not a cop out :) SO, i will go saturday morning :) I'm really looking forward to seeinghow i've done, i think i was pretty good. I feel like i've been eating pretty normal....just not overdoing it. I like that. :)

Good morning all! I see I am the first to post....I hope everyone is resting; especially Andrea, SMom, and Whirl! My heart goes out to all of you--take care of yourselves!!!!

Well, yesterday wasn't a total loss; I ate decently. I had a scrambled egg w/cheese for breakfast, a salad with ham for lunch and dinner was some chicken and a cup of green beans. I didn't have any huge cravings for carbs although that dozen of glazed donuts I bought hubby at Wal-mart sure looked yummy. I'm feeding them to the kids for breakfast; hubby only like them when they're fresh and my problem is that I like them anytime!!!!(Pop em' in the microwave and it's like they were just baked!) So, I'm getting rid of them as fast as I can. They didn't have any to sell individually or I wouldn't have gotten so many!

Today should be a little easier on me; I've got most of my stuff done for VBS. I need to go to church later to work on some stuff--nothing major. I'm happy to see that we're supposed to have decent weather next week; decently being MILD! It's tradition that during VBS it's usually 100 degrees everyday and the church isn't air conditioned!!! Lucky us! I think they are calling for a chance of rain everyday which is a bummer, but we can't have it all-can we?

Only good thing about this rain is my garden is finally growing. Now, I need to find the time to take care of it!!

D&C: I know what you mean about finding it hard to get back into exercise again. That tends to be my greatest downfall. I will exercise consistently for a long time and then for some reason (vacation, illness, generally just too much else to do) and then it takes forever for me to get back into the habit. It's something that I must FORCE myself to do for a few days then it gets easier. Just try to do a little something each day--even if it's 15 minutes. Gradually add some time on and I think you'll find that after a week or so; you'll get back into the groove. Don't feel guilty about your wonderful vacation---it was well deserved.

I just read my "Body for Life Book" that I got yesterday and it says how there are 3 types of people. Historical people long for the days of the past--say, when they were in HS and athletic, thin, etc. Then there are those who live in the present and think that the condition they are in today is the only one they will ever be in--they can't see themselves any other way. That leads to the next type of person----the ones who live in the future. They can see themselves improving and will work hard to see that it happens. These are the "doers" as I like to call them. It's my hope that we can use the past to learn from, the present as a path to lead us, and the future to make all our dreams come true.
I may not be using the exact exercise program in the book (it seems complicated to follow) but the inspiration is definately there!!!! After reading it; I know that I can change my body. It's all up to me--no one else. I want to live in the future and make all my dreams come true. I figure that losing weight is the biggest battle I have in my life at the present moment--so if I can conquer that--I can conquer anything I put my mind to. I'm reasonably fit, in good health--there's really nothing holding me back----except maybe my attitude- which has been drastically changed by reading this book! Ican't wait to receive the second part of my order--the success journal. Just reading those stories gives me the motivation I need to get going!!! I highly recommend it!

Well, I must get busy. I figured I'd do a little light housecleaning today. It's raining outside--so no pool or garden work. I'll be back later to chat.

Good morning, everyone! Hope you're all in a better mood than mine. As I just mentioned on the "Strength Week" thread, I'm really frustrated because I've been working twice as hard this week on diet & exercise, but the scale has only moved 1 lb so far. Normally, when I cheat a little now & then and exercise half this much, the scale would show at least a 2 lb loss by now. I know we're not talking about a lot of weight here, but I've been stuck at 145 and really thought that challenge would get me over the hump. I'm going to stick with it though, so let's hope the scale surprises me next time I get on it!

DP: What you said about AP (...and keep smiling and supporting US through it all!!! You are such a strong amazing person, I admire you so much...) I couldn't have said it better!!! Good luck at WW on Saturday. Hope all is well at home now.

AP: DP is right, we love ya! Glad your appt went well yesterday. A little ray of sunshine through the clouds, huh?!! Keep smiling, hon!

Jen: Wow, you sound really inspired! That's great - go kick some diet butt! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif LOL Good job feeding the donuts to everyone else!

SM: Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. Bet you'll be glad to be off those meds soon! Hang in there!

Whirl: How ya feelin' today? Hope you heal fast!

Donuts: Sorry about the 9 lbs, but I'll bet it was worth it! Don't try to immediately jump into the same routine you had before your vacation. Work back into it a little slowly, and you'll get rid of those 9 in no time. You can do it!

Hi to everyone else, too! Good luck today. Talk to ya later!

Good morning!

I hope you are all doing ok- especially AP, Whirl and Smom!!! Take care of yourselves!!

jennielynn- that was really interesting about the types. I think I am an historical person, but wishing for how I looked in the past makes me work harder for the future.

Donuts- don't worry about gaining weight. You are probably in really good shape, and if you are your body will bounce back quickly.

I did not work out yesterday and had poor eating habits. I ate very little during the day, which left me feeling sick in the evening. By the time I was able to sit down and have dinner (8:30!!!!) I felt awful. I did well until about 10:30, when I wanted a snack, so I made nachos!!! YUCK! They didn't even taste good, but I ate them ALL.

I weighed this morning at 129-130. I will try to get to 125, but if I start loosing energy, I'll be happy here.

Good news- I got a new stove this week AND we ordered a HOT TUB Tuesday!!! That will be a great motivator for me to work out- I'll reward myself with getting in the hot tub- and I won't get in it unless I have worked out.

Other good news- I think I may have to buy new clothes again. ALL my 8's are too big and my 6's are a little too loose, also.

OKAY, sorry to ramble. Guess I am hyper this morning.... excited about going to Dallas tomorrow to spend the weekend with my best friend. :) :)

Take care of yourselves and sorry about the novel!!!!!

Well I'm slowly working my way back to my regular routine. I did my morning cardio, but only 30 minutes instead of my usual 60. Tonight I'll probably lift weights. This weekend I'm planning to do my grocery shopping at an actual health foods store instead of my normal supermarket. I figure now is a good time to revamp my diet and see if I can make it even healthier. I think I need to up my protein intake too and figure out a way to eat more real food and rely less on MRPs. I'm going to Whole Foods. I hear it's a great place but I've never been there before. I just hope it's not too expensive. Has anyone else been there? Do they have membership discounts?

STUCK STUCK STUCK !!!! Okay, I'm about to give up. Food intake for yesterday .... special K cereal w/skim milk. Celery for snack. Lunch - bowl of chicken chili (yummy) and a small bread roll. More celery for snack. Dinner - grilled shrimp (no cocktail sauce) grilled peppers (red, yellow and green), very little yellow rice (one tablespoon, I couldn't resist) and a small salad. ....92 oz of water.

Weighed myself this morning ....Oh yeah ....guess what .....the scale moved !!! Only the wrong way, it went UP 1/2 pound!!!!!

Morning guys! Gorgeous day here in No. Cal. (tho it's going to be a hot one) so at least I'm starting out in a good mood... Another dress rehearsal tonight and then we open on Saturday! Whee! I will be so glad when rehearsals are over so I can get some sleep again!

Houdini - thanks sooo much for your encouragement, and you are totally right that I probably just need to stop stressing myself out over small stuff when I'm so jammed otherwise!

southern mom - glad to know I'm not the only one w/ the eating at night problem, and especially glad to know that it can be broken! feel better sweetie!!

Donuts - Whole Foods is the best store ever. Don't know if they have membership discounts because I'm only in a state where they have Whole foods a couple months a year so I don't go that often. But if they had it in Manhattan I would be there every day! Tons of great health food, healthy versions of a lot of unhealthy food, and a really knowledgeable staff. Really nice produce too if you're willing to fork over.

jlaffey - I can feel your frustration and just know we are all rooting for you! Sometimes that scale doesn't move but it doesn't mean your body isn't changing.

Andrea and Whirl - Hope you guys are doing okay! Great big hugs to both of ya!

Howdi from the West Coast! It is going to be hot today! I hope that I can handle it. I'm going to stay inside until around 7pm. I have been working on my "spring cleaning". It helps with my exercise. This morning I did yoga and lifted weights. They are 3 lbs each. I am trying hard to increase my activity. I am still a little weak from the inner ear disorder and so I do as much as 5 lb weights and thats it. When I first started to exercise again, it was tough! I have been sick for so long that my muscles didn't think I cared anymore :).

I'm glad that I have been cleaning, it keeps my mind off of food. I accually set my kitchen alarm so I know when its time to eat. Of course I have all the time in the world to plan my day. Most of you are probably working, going to school, or are stay at home moms. Which you have alot more things going on than I do. ;)

AP- glad to hear about your brother. Hope he gets better real soon.

Take care. Hope that weather is nice where you all are. Drink plenty of water! ;) d http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Just checking in... I have a bridal shower to go to this evening, so I will probably not eat very well. I'm going to have a granola bar or something beforehand to keep me from eating too much junk.

I am going to Dallas tomorrow to spend the weekend with my best friend. She has not seen me since I have lost weight. I'm really excited for her to see me!

Anyway, going to have a snack. Have a good weekend if I don't check in before I leave.

I have been doing well..this is day 4 and I have been good. I have been hungry today so i am trying to deal with it... tonight we are going to the local park that is right next to us that has free concerts each thurs during the summer so that should be good and keep me out of the house for a while. Since I work here it is too easy to get food!! It keeps calling me and I am trying to ignore it!! LOL!

The weather here is warm, but not as hot as it has been and it is sunny..pretty nice. this is normal for this time of year.. anyway I must be going for now...
I hope someone shows up soon :(

Hi all! Just checking in before heading off to bed. I know it's early--but I'm tired. I did some major house cleaning today and went to church to work on VBS stuff for about 3 hours. That was my exercise for today--shame on me!

I did eat well today. I had a scrambled egg with ham & cheese for breakfast, a salad with chicken for lunch and broiled haddock with another salad for dinner. Oh, and I just had some SF jello for a snack. I'm still chugging the water--gotta atleast drink my 64 oz. so, it was a good food day!

I don't have any kids until 8 a.m. in the morning so maybe I can drag my butt out of bed and get some real exercise. I don't have much planned for tomorrow so there's no excuse not to.

Well, I hope everyone is winding down and getting ready for bed. SMom: you take care of yourself and get some well needed rest!!!

Goodnight!

Jen

Hey now....the dentist rocks :)

Anyway, just thought I'd check in and say hi. Things are still going really well for me. I haven't cheated or anything. I still haven't made it to the gym either, but I am riding my bike every day to and from work so that definetely counts. It's about 30-40 mins of cardio. I should be joining the gym tomorrow though and getting my membership. I think once I'm paying I'll be more inclined to go since it will be a waste of money if I'm not.

Going to see the movie Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. I want popcorn, but I won't have it! But I sure would love it :)

Don't know how its going as far as pounds lost until Monday. I hid my scale so I wouldn't weigh myself and its a good thing I did or else I definetely would have by now if it was just sitting on my bathroom floor cause darnit I wanna know how I'm doing. But I'm gonna hold out until Monday! I have to practice what I preach to my fiance!

To all who asked previously......I made 36 invitations, and I had to mail 18 of them. None of them were overseas....just half way across the country. Pretty crazy shipping costs huh? I don't even want to think about how much invitations cost us...especially since we made some before these ones that cost us about $60 but then we switched resorts and invitations. We won't have centerpeices though because we are getting married at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica. Hmmmmmm were there anymore questions about that? I can't really remember. I can't wait though and its still a year and 6 days away! I can't wait though to lose all this weight and have pictures to show you guys. I'll post them on the net with a before picture. Then pictures of me in my vera wang in Jamaica......hopefully ;)

AP: Hope your brother recovers quickly. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Whirl: You poor thing! Falling off your bike like that. I always ***** and complain about having to wear a bike helmet here since its the law, but then I read stories like you and it reminds me why I have to wear it and I don't complain so much. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. It was so nice to read your post since you had such a good attitude about it all. Optomistic just like me :)

SM: Glad to hear that you don't need a root canal. They are no fun for anyone involved :(

DP: How is weight watchers going? Have you weighed in yet, or did you say it was Saturday?

Anyway guys, I have to get going here and get changed. I biked home and its hot as hell out here in the west coast today so I'm a little sweaty! Hope you all have a great night and an even better tomorrow. Get ready for the weekend. Lots all try and make it through without cheating ok? I'm going out for dinner with friends, but I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. As long as I go into it telling myself I won't cheat.....then I probably won't.
