Done with week 3 today and still no weight loss. Yesterday I had my special K s/skim milk for breakfast, a SF jello for snack, I was BAD at lunch everyone at work went to McDonalds and I tagged along ....I ate a plain hamburger ...and about 5 fries !!! For Dinner I ate a salad w/grilled chicken breasts. I tallied my calorie totals using fitday and was still at 1200 ...whew !!!! ......I felt so guilty all night about that darn hamburger !!! ....Now I know why I bring my lunch everyday, so I'm not tempted to make BAD choices when going out.
Well ...as I said it's the end of week 3 ....still nothing. No weight loss, no differance in clothes. I'm totally losing my motivation. If I would just make SOME progess, notice some differance, I think it would help me to keep going, but NO ...I'm stuck.

i feel your pain, i have not lost anything since i started WW over 2 months ago. i have actually GAINED over 10lbs now. i am taking drastic measures and even went off the BC pill. (good thing i have an understanding fiance!) still, no luck. i have been using the zantrex for about a week and still haven't seen results. i am going to keep on trying though. this is one thing I am NOT going to give up on! Hang in there, and try not to get too discouraged. i know it's tough, but at least we are all in this battle together.

I'm frustrated again today - been working really hard on the strength week challenge, and only lost another 1/2 lb today. :( That's a total of 1.5 for the week. I didn't expect to lose 10 lbs, but 3-4 would have been great. I feel like I've been hanging around 145 forever. But I think the problem right now is that I noticed last night I'm REALLY bloated. Why??? This just came on over the last couple of days. It's not because of AF. So what else can cause bloating? It's really obvious in my belly - it looks so bad, and I don't know what's going on. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this other than AF? I'm a little better this morning, but not much at all. I just feel like I worked harder than ever all week & have nothing to show for it. Very frustrating. :mad: I know I should be happy about the 1.5, but I've lost that plenty of other times without working nearly this hard.

Lisamariexo - what dosage are you using with the zantrex? I have been taking these pills for these 3 weeks and nothing !! ...However, I'm afraid to take 2 at once ...I take one in the morning and have to wait about 6 hours before I can take 1 as my 2nd dosage. If I take the 2nd dose before waiting a full 6 hours I get really shaky, fast heart beat and wierd thing, all my veins pop out in my hands, arms. Needless to say, I'm totally afraid of taking more than 1 at a time. I wondered if they don't work unless you take the full dose of 2 at a time !!

Houdini - i have the same bloating problem, mine is constant though...not always when AF is around. i am not sure what causes it either. but like you, right now is even more noticable. at times i feel like i look pregnant, although I know i am not.

jlaffey - i take two in the morning before breakfast, i just make sure i drink lots of water with it and then i take another 2 before lunch and thats it. i haven't really had any problems since the first day when i had the shakes and felt nauseous.

i am really at a loss as to why i am so bloated. i have cut out most of my dairy, which i didn't have much of anyway due to a lactose intolerance. does anyone else have any ideas as to why houdini and i are so darned bloated??????

to all who asked: thank you so much. keep the prayers goin cuz hes got lotsa recovering to do.
dp: good luck tomm! i weighed today& gained 2 lbs but ive nothing to complain about ive been blowin it for days now. im really gonna make it work today though. ive already eaten breakfast& had a little bit of water.
now to address the bloating problem: have either of you eaten anything salty? that could cause it. are you drinking enough water? try taking a b complex if youre not already.
ok.... now the magic question..... whats goin on guys? looks to me like we are all gettin depressed together. isnt that a hoot! seriously guys.. cmon we cant give up!!!!!!!

Hi AP! I haven't had any more salt than I normally have, so I don't think that's the problem. I've been drinking about 70-80 oz of water each day this week, slightly more than my usual 64 oz. I don't take a B complex, but I take a multi, plus B1 & B5. Do you think that's enough? I just can't figure this out. The only thing I've been doing any differently this week is 1) more exercise and 2) just a little more water.
I'm frustrated & have come close to binges several times today, but I'm trying really hard to just stick with it through today. I keep telling myself I have Sat. & Sun. off, will go out to dinner & enjoy myself & stay away from the scale, then will deal with this next week. I don't take a B complex, but I take a multi, plus B1 & B5. Do you think that's enough? I just can't figure this out. The only thing I've been doing any differently this week is 1) more exercise and 2) just a little more water.
I'm frustrated & have come close to binges several times today, but I'm trying really hard to just stick with it through today. i just found though on webmd that some foods, like cucumbers and bananas are culprits of bloating...which i have been eating a lot of both lately. so, i am going to cut back on those to see if that helps any. we shall see!

Can I join this frustration party? What is it with today? I am feeling it too. I am having a few problems here and it is really making me want to turn to food. I was already feeling particularly hungry today as it was!
I ended up having an extra snack this morning..actualy 2! :eek: I am not sure why, but when i get frustrated i usually get a craving for peanut butter!
so I had a few peanuts and I just had a stalk of celery with some crunchy JIF (my fave!) I hope this will help me go on with the rest of the day but chocolate has been sounding good as well!! oh help me!!
I have not figured out what lunch is going to be yet and it is just about time for it. if i had the energy i would leave and get subway, but maybe I will save that for dinner :) I guess it is probably lean cuisine for me!

Does anyone bruise easily while dieting? I just barely hit my leg and get a bruise.

Jlaffey, i used to bruise easily too...they say to get more potassium in your diet. i have noticed that since i started eating a banana everyday i have bruised less. also maybe some iron.
AP- i will cut out the other two B's. You seem to know an awful lot about vitamins and nutrition...is that your field?

I remember this happened last year while dieting also.

Good Afternoon Everyone! :wave:
Speaking of bloated, I ALSO feel like I'm a BLIMP. It must be the heat..like SM said; Its SO HOT here in NC!! But there is a cool front moving in . . so the temperature will be around 90 instead of 95. I can't really contribute feeling bloated to any changes in my diet, etc.
I'm feeling much better, but this bike crash knocked me for a loop. I'm SO tired, but am getting better. I got a "RIB BELT" so that I can move around better and not hurt so much when I move the wrong way. Boy does it make moving around feel better.
I haven't been as good as I should have with my eating but I ached so DARN bad that I didn't even care what I ate. LOL! Good excuse huh? Believe it or not I still have 3 of those fudgsicles left YUUuuummm! They are calling me.
I finally weighed this morning! And, after being so bad last week, believe it or not, I did not gain. I'm holding steady at 177. I thought for sure I'd gained several pounds from last week, and then after this week by just not eating regularly I was sure I'd gained! So I had better get back on track...before those scales move in the WRONG direction! :round:
AP. . . SO GLAD your brother is ok. ((hugs)) I'll keep him in our prayers ... here's to a speedy recovery! Don't worry about those scales. Donuts: I love Whole Foods Grocery. Don't have one in my town but do go to 2 others that are located in NC. I'm not a health food freak, but they do have great choices and a wonderful variety of veggies, meats, cheeses, etc.! You'll love it....BUT your wallet probably will not!
Snoopy anymore concerts?)- It does sounds like we are ALL frustrated.... perhaps the rain and the heat??

After catching up on the posts this week, I found that a good portion of us have been in bad moods due to no weight loss, our scales aren't moving; no change in weight in weeks - not even one ounce, and we've not lost, but some of us gained weight and we seem to be getting VERY discouraged :(

hey people! i'm no longer at 54 lbs!! i feel so happy. i'm now into the 40s (as of a few nights ago, i was 47 lbs). i've also been eating better. today, i ordered a 12" (that is the sign for inches, right??? haha) sub at subway, and i was going to eat it all there, but decided to not, and have the other half for supper. so, what i've eatten today has been:
- snack mix stuff (just a hand ful)
- bowl of tomatoes with some ranch dressing
- fretoes (just a hand ful)
- subway turkey sub w/ mayo (1/2)
- m+m cookie (from subway)
- a few sips of rootbeer (subway)
- can of diet sprite/mt dew/whatever it was
- subway turkey sub w/ mayo (1/2)
- m+m cookie (from subway)
- three snapples (2 = calorie less. 1=40cals)
now, i know what you're thinking: HOLY **** IS THAT ALOT. no, actually it isn't. normally i would've had a lot more than that. also, normalluy i would've eatten the whole sub, then had something else for supper. also, instead of just having a hand full of goodies at my friends house, i would've had the bag infront of me. haha
btw, sorry i didn't read a lot of your guys' posts.. i'm really behind.. sorry! i did skim something about ap's brother being okay/better.. i hope i read right!

Hey everyone! Not much time today but these last few minutes at work are really slow. Doing pretty well today so far. I'm having this stupid problem, though, where my stepdad keeps buying these decadent chocolate cakes from Costco! For no reason!! Aren't fancy cakes suppoed to be just for special occasions? He has kept the house well-stocked with them for about three weeks straight now. And of course chocolate cake is the one food I absolutely never tire of. How do you guys keep away from something like that?? The only way I seem to be able to stop myself is by physically removing myself from my own house, which, as you can imagine, is not always terribly practical. :p

well, i made it through the day as i hope all of you did. it wasnt easy, but i made myself eat tuna wh celery for lunch & then swam for 1:15.

Hi guys! Maybe I shouldn't be posting today.....I may be stoned by some.....but I'm actually having a good "eating" day. Don't get me wrong; there's plenty of stress in my life and I've yet to exercise today (Most likely, I won't) but I'm just happy with the fact that I've kept my eating in check!!! I'm actually a little under calories today--but not much. This is how my eating went:
B: scrambled egg with cheese
L: salad with chicken
D: yet another salad with chicken & cheese and some sugar free jello for dessert.
I used regular dressing and cheddar cheese on my salads so my calorie total for the day is around 1020. Normally I try to stick with 1200. I just wasn't too hungry today. I do notice that since I've been keeping my carbs low that I can handle my cravings better. And I'm not craving the sweet stuff.
This may sound crazy--but I think that my involvement with VBS is actually helping my eating habits (or lack of over-eating). I figure that for the next 2 weeks I will be up in front of alot of people every day and I'm really self-concious about the way I look. I want them to see me make my transformation..from the size I am now into a somewhat smaller version. Sounds crazy, doesn't it?? The other reason is simple: I can't afford to go out and buy new clothes because I gain weight. I have lots of smaller clothes that I could wear--if I could just lose a few pounds!
Well, gotta run--just got company!! Be back tomorrow!!!
