well I thought that I would be first..ha ha!!!

this is the end of week one of atkins..i had a chicken caesar for lunch and a caesar with a hamp patty w/ cheese and some mushrooms sauteed with shrimp! not too bad...my test stiks have still been coming up purple so I guess i am doing okay. i test every other day..so i will test again tomorrow. How is everyone else doing?

Hi guys! I'm back from the mountains and 2 pounds lighter!!!!Yippee!!!! I guess I just needed to get away and not obsess so much! I didn't do strict Atkins..but still managed to lose a few! Here's how it went:

I actually did well.....my aunt and I drove up ourselves on Friday (the hubby, uncle and kids left earlier) so we decided to take advantage of the peace and quiet. We stopped at a seafood buffet. I started with a salad and then had the broiled varieties of seafood. I did have some SF coconut creme pie for dessert. it wasn't too bad.

Sat: scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast, lunch was a salad and a big fat cheeseburger with no bun. We went to the fair at night and against my better judgement--I split a cheesesteak with my hubby. I did have some carb cutter along--took that. When we got back to the cabin--it was time to make Smores. I did have one.

Sun: woke up late; everyone gobbled all the breakfast food up! There was one piece of sausage left and a donut. I ate the sausage and half the donut---which was almost sickening until I finished! We stopped at the mall on the way home and ate at Arbys. No salads there so I ate a market fresh sandwich--yes, this time I did eat the bread. We went through Wendy's drive-thru to get the kids Frosty's--I passed. It's amazing; months ago I wouldn't have dreamed of passing on anything! Last night I had a cheesedog for supper!

So, as you can see--althought I managed to keep my carbs pretty low; definately not below 20---I did manage to lose anyway. The biggest thing for me was that I wasn't constantly starving! What a great feeling!

Today I'm back to the 20 carbs or below. We leave for the beach in a little less than 3 weeks; I'm hoping to shed atleast another 10 pounds until then. My MIL and I are going shopping tomorrow--gotta get those summer bargains. We're taking the kids to Chuck E. Cheese; guess I'll have the salad bar!!!

Well, I hate to rush off; but at last check I had like 250 e-mails. Mostly junk; I'm sure! I'll check in later---hope everyone is doing great!!

Good morning, everyone.

Sean, welcome. I think you can channel all your negativity into a workout and it'll help you loose weight, plus it'll probably make you feel better. Just a suggestion.

I had a bad weekend, food wise. My DH is out of town and that's always when I binge. I had a pizza that I munched on Friday and Saturday and then yesterday I ate a burger abd fries. YUCK!!!! I also drank beer...

But I am still at my goal weight, and this is my heaviest time of the month, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, hope you are all having a good day.

I've missed you guys! I'm so sorry to have been out of touch since last week. I'm not sure what happened - on Thursday night, I posted to the current summer challenge thread (I think it was 58 or 59). I basically vented that I'd done terrible all week, but was leaving for vacation Friday morning & wasn't going to deal with dieting for a few days. Anyway, I know my post worked - I SAW it there on the thread after I submitted it. Friday morning, getting ready to leave for New Hampshire, I checked the thread one last time. My post wasn't there! :mad: I wanted to quickly type a new post & say goodbye to everyone, but hubby was on the bike yelling for me to get my butt in gear, so I had to leave. I still don't know what happened to Thursday night's post, though. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif So anyway, I'm sorry for disappearing for so long, but I really didn't mean to!

I didn't dare weigh myself this morning. Ate a lot on vacation (and loved every minute of it), and pre-AF caused me to eat everything in sight all last week. So I'm gonna wait a few days before I check the scales.

How is everyone else doing? I've only breezed through some of the posts - haven't had time to read up on everything yet. But I'd like to say welcome to Sean, our newbie, and I'd like to say goodbye to Skyborn... I'm so sorry you're leaving, I've really enjoyed reading your posts. I wish you the best & hope you decide to return soon! :(

I think I figured out how to get a handle on my eating. I have a toothache that makes it very difficult to eat, especially candy or chocolate.

This morning I woke up very determined to get my act together. I started the day with 45 minutes of cardio, but unlike the past few weeks, I actually sweated a lot today. I had been biking at 17mph and I'd sweat a little but today I went at 20mph and poored buckets. Felt like I really accomplished something. And my breakfast was half a cup of plain oatmeal and two scrambled egg whites. I'm sure the reduced carb intake and more intense cardio will help me break through my plateau. Just hope I can keep it up this time.

I feel lonely!!!

I am very sore from painting and stuff this weekend but we got most of my daughters room done...it looks sooo much better now..

we also have a guest room that the pets took over because we dont have that many guests that stay over SO we are going to redo that room next which will mean some more painting..we are goig t turn it into a "study" and put our daughters desk in there without a tv! also a comfy couch and some book shelves...i look forward to that being done...it was getting soo bad in there!

still being good..this is day 8 starting a new week..i have not cheated one time nor have i really been tempted to.. tonoght i am making pork chops which the family loves with shake n bake...i cant have that so i get to make it for them but not put any on mine..plus i love it with applesauce and i cant have that :(
I will have to pick another vegetable or just have a larger salad. I will be okay though. I am really giving this a go. i cant say there has been significant weight lost, but the first week is usually water and i think i lost all that the week before when i wasnt feeling well and didnt eat much for a couple of days! my stick was still dark purple so i have to be on the right track..i just wish my scale wasnt so bad..i may buy one soon..it is discouraging when you cant tell if you really have lost anything or not because of the wide fluctuations..i just get an idea because it fluctuates a little lower!! hope all is well with everyone and hopefully someone will show up soon..if this long post doesnt frighten them away!! LOL!

Houdini - it's great to have you back!

My move went well this weekend. Got it all done on Saturday! Had 19 steps to climb though and my legs were SOOO sore yesterday. Talk about a workout! I cheated sat night and had pizza, I kinda think I deserved it though, plus I took starch busters with is, and we were WAYYY to tired to prepare anything! But now I have the endless job of unpacking everything...it's taking forever!

I went to the gym at lunch today, and the scale has dropped from 136 to 134.5 - is that the zantrex working? I guess i have been on it about 3-4 weeks now, my bottle is getting pretty low. Should I get another bottle and do them continously or take a break? Any suggestions? I think I'll check out the zantrex board too.

So the vacation is coming up in about 3 weeks now and my tummy DEFINITELy does not look like i want it too :eek: what to do about a swimsuit? I guess I might have to go with a one-piece, I guess I'll wait til the last minute to decide that one. Well if the zantrex truly works maybe i'll be down 10 in three weeks! who knows???

Alright, I hope all you gals (and guy) are doing well today! Happy Monday!

Welcome back Houdini!! Good to have you here. Yes the posting and then having it disappear definitely does get old doesn't it??

I was gone all weekend, Friday I was down 3 lbs, but I'm sure I gained it, road trips are boring and I snack too much!! I am going to wait til Friday to get on the scales (we'll see...I usually weigh every day).

I started the Xtreme Lean on Thursday so I think that helps a lot, even though it dries me up!!

I have so much work to do this week, I probably won't be able to post much, I haven't even had a chance to read everyone's posts from the weekends...

Snoopy sounds like you are doing awesome girlie, hope the scale drops for you so you don't start to get discouraged. But if you can 'feel' it, that's all that matters right??

Well, how is everyone. I am taking Protonix again for my stomach. My anxiety is making my stomach upset again. My doctor told me that I have a hiatic hernia. Which is where the diaphram is pushing on the stomach, and thats why I am getting a pressure feeling in there. Also I have heartburn with it. So I am back on my "ulcer diet" which is bland. I can not have any tomato products, citris, or chocolate. Oh well, I want to get better. I have heard through the nurses at the doc office that alot of people have this.

Well I'm taking it easy. I can't bend over or lift any significant amount of weight either.

Have any of you had a hiatic hernia, of the stomach or esophigus? (I spelled that wrong) just curious.

Whirl- welcome back. I wanted to let you know that my blood tests came back good. The only high number was glucose which was 125, the normal range is 70-109, and my doc said that it is not a dangerous number,and that it flutuates all the time.

Someone mentioned they were going to get a thyroid test, good luck. Hope it goes well.

Hey Snoopy! I love decorating my home. I repainted my oldest daughter's room earlier this year. It was a lot of work. No wonder they charge so much money to have it done by professionals. We plan to do the whole house pretty soon. My dh doesn't help because I don't want him to. It's like my own little project. He takes care of anything outdoors. :)

lotus...glad to hear the move went well. Sounds like you had a good workout.

AP...(((hugs))) I hope your cat is feeling better today. What did the vet say? Out mama cat had her babies when H Claudette hit over here. They're so cute. I hope you are doing okay. I get real down on the dumps when something is wrong with our cats or dog. :(

Hi all! I'm new to the board and this thread so I'll introduce myself.
I'm a 19 year old college student - I'm wanting to lose about 40 pounds or so.
I'm doing extremely low cal, and I'm having success. I'm feeling really powerful and in control, which is a new feeling, but I like it!
Today I ate a breakfast bar for breakfast (120), nonfat yogurt and reduced fat Wheat Thins for lunch (370), and I'm about to eat 2 egg whites. I've had tons of water today, also.
I know it seems like a pretty drastic diet, but I need to keep it low cal - I'm hanging out at about 186 right now and I'm just ready to lose!!!

ICK!! I have eaten only carbs today- not nearly enough protien. I had cereal (low-carb), fruit and milk for breakfast and yogurt (non-sweetened, FF) for lunch. Of course, I was still hungry, so I ate a bag of cheddar cheese goldfish from the vending machine. I feel so yucky and weak. I can't believe I am eating like this!!

Of course, I am not feeling like myself today anyway because of AF (sorry to be blunt). I feel HUGE.

Well, this whale needs to go drink some more water to try and flush out all the salt and impurities. I'm going to an aerobics class tonight, so that should make me feel better.

Sorry for the venting.

Good Afternoon to Everyone!

Sorry I didn't check in on Sunday, but I was so busy getting ready for the dinner guests! We had 7 + us that makes 9! I loved every minute of it though. I didn't do too bad eating ...welll......okay, truth be known - I ate a baked potato LOADED with everything and that SINFUL dessert I made...OKAY..SO I BLEW IT BIG time, and I'm back on track today.

I didn't get to walk on the treadmill at the gym today, but I'm going first thing in the morning. YEAH FOR ME!

AP... I'm so sorry you're in pain :( I hate it when you hurt! I hope you are better this afternoon.(((HUGGGSS))))

I'm pretty motivated even though I had the BIG cheat last night. I'm not weighing until Wednesday due that HUGE dinner I ate last night, I don't want to break my new scale just yet! :eek: I'll bet I consumed enough calories for 3 days. I didn't even put it in fitday for fear of what it would say! They say "some things you're better off just NOT knowing" .....well, this is one of those times! LOL I just hope it doesn't catch up with me and set me back too much. I've regretted eating the dessert more than anything. It was SO loaded with calories, yet so good going down!

I HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING GOOD. FROM THE SOUNDS OF THE POSTS, IT SOUNDS LIKE WE ARE ALL STILL "FIGHTING THE BATTLE OF THE BULDGE" and doing it very well!! LOL!!!! Well everyone except ME! No one's fault but my own!

:wave: Hi AP!!!
I know the summer challenge is coming to an end here. I was curious if you plan on starting a new challenge for those of us who have not quite reached our goal. I know I came in towards the end of the summer but reading the posts have given me more modivation to push myself and not give up when I do have crash days. Thanks for all the support you have given and I hope we can have a new challenge.- :)-Roni

Hey Everyone,
Havent really read all the post..but just wanted to check in.

I am so stuffed right now. I made fajita meat w/ cheese and sour cream..NO TORTILLAS...

But I am haning at 107 still..so I am pleased w/ that.

I will talk to you all in a bit.
