elespity? is that epilepsy?? will assume that it is, so just correct me if i am wrong... many anti-seizure meds that are approved by the fda for use with epilespy are also used for other mental/emotional conditions...research was published last sept that indicated the reason for weight gain with one particular anti-seizure med is that it increases the body's sensitivity to insulin, thus the weight gain while on the meds and even after the meds have been stopped...

in simple terms, what this means is that your body reacts more easily to carbs, sugars than before...so best way to lose the weight is to use a weight loss plan that decreases the carbs/sugars in your daily eating...

decreasing the sugars is not only the junk food that you mentioned, but the natural sugars that are found in fruit and such...

do a research on the different low carb plans and see which one would fit your lifestyle the best...

i am on an anti-seizure med, not for epilepsy, but for bipolar, i gained 60 lbs the first year, and have since lost that 60 as well as the extra i was carrying, so it is all doable, best wishes to you!

I would also advise you to cut back big time on carbs..... my whole life I ate whatever I wanted, I used to be emberassed because I was too thin. Once I started taking Celexa I started packing on the pounds. I craved things that I never really bothered with before.... like Pizza and bread and lots of candy. On Celexa it was like I was always hungry. Ive recently went off of it and hopefully I will see some changes in my weight..... I gained 15 pounds on Zoloft in a year during high school and once I was off of it I lost most of that weight without diet or exercise. So good luck and watch those carbs.
