I am guessing that my extra weight is due to water i retained..
Also, i have been unable to lose the weight around my waistline too. Even though my body fat is less than 14%.

I actually "know" when I'm retaining water because I will really FEEL fat and bloated! (more than I usually do, LOL) It's always at that time of the month though. I drink tons of water allllll day long so I don't have a chance to retain. But during that T.O.M. there's no stopping it!!

I can actually see it in my stomach. When I'm not retaining water, if I try to push my stomach out, I can't push it far at all. But when I'm retaining water, my stomach is out there pretty far, even when I'm not pushing it! Never used to have this problem until I switched bc pills. Switched back to my old pill, but this never went away, so now I have to just deal with it monthly. I doubt my bloating is enough for other people no notice, but I definitely see it.

I'd start here first.
How much is your sodium intake? It helps retain water.
The RDA is 2500 mg
Personally I think it's better to be around 1500.
You can't live without sodium though. Your body needs at least 500 mg a day.

Hiya!
For me, wanted to tell you that due to taking Birth control pills i had lots of Water retention. I started the pills about 2 months ago.
I started Atkins 6 days ago and All my puffyness went away.
My legs look and feel lighter! Cutting down on Sugar and carbs helped me.

hmmm.. interestin.. I have eliminated almost all sugary foods, basically junk foods, from my diet.. As for carbs, i am confuse to which are starch or not. But i have avoided bread, pasta, potatoes, and baked goods.
As for sodium.. i eat foods that naturally contain sodium.. I dont overindulge in sodium.. I just add blk pepper instead of salt..
