that the longer fat has been on an area of your body the more stubborn it is?
I mean, I have had 4 kids so my stomach has gone the a lot! Now, the trainer at gym sid my abs are amazing..the muscle that is,but i have stubborn fat on my belly so you can't see my beautiful six pack I am developing under there! I do cardio to burn fat follow atkins.....laudy, daudy, daaa...all the right stuff, but i don't know if this will ever truly go away with lipo!!!
Any ideas or thoughts?

I'm in the same position as you. I've had 3 children and while exercising regularly and doing Atkins is whipping me into shape slowly--it's that stubborn "pouch" that I can't seem to get rid off. Don't get me wrong; it's getting smaller; but nonetheless--it's still there. I've heard before that some women never completely lose it--which is a bit discouraging; but that's what life gives us so no use complaining.
I've also heard that cardio is the best for melting the fat of. They say that Pilates is also effective. I can tell that when I do ab exercises that there is muscle under there---really I can feel it. But, its the fat on top that keeps me from seeing it! Depressing as it may be--I keep at it; hoping by some miracle I will one day be without "my pouch"! If you find anything that truly works (other than a tummy tuck) let me know!!!! LOL Sometimes I think that if I had the money and I reached my goal--I'd seriously consider doing it!!

Well the experts will tell you that when you lose fat it comes off all over but it seems to me for some people that there are certain spots that are the last to go and the first to come back. I kid you not.

I think for all of us who have had kids, have the pouch. It is depressing. As I diet and slowly loose weight I do see a difference in my belly but it's not the same as before I had kids. It's puzzling though, I do know a few people who have had kids (3 or 4) who have the body of a teenager. It must be genetic. I don't know?

I am saving right now for my tummy tuck and breast lift. DH just shakes his head, but he said he will support me with whatever decision I make. I have already made it...lol! I have 3 children and I am done having babies so I want these things done. Ain't it terrible what women have to go through? :(

I definately agree that my *belly* is the last place to lose and the first to gain. Its almost like loose skin as well that I don't think will ever go away without surgery. Honest...not just a vain thing, but I trul think that the skin will not go away. 3 of my kids were 9 pounds and 1 was 10! So my belly was huge!!!! anyways, I will keep going at it and see what happens when I get to my goal!

I am so glad you posted this topic! I wanted to talk about my "pooch" too, but wasn't sure how to bring it up among friends! LOL
I only had only baby, (he is 7 now) but I gained about 30lbs with him, then I lost it pretty quickly afterwards, BUT then gained it all back (and I wasn't preg!) by staying at home and doing childcare for the past 6 years. Anywa, I am lucky enough to have lost it all and I am down to what I believe is a healthy weight. I am faithful with my toning exercises, about 400 crunches and I run 1 mile a day on my ski machine...But I still have this overlap of skin around my middle. It is all soft and I do have a six pack that is visible mostly, but this horrible fleshy part is driving me nuts! I have watched those plastic surgery shows and they have said that sometimes you cannot get rid of certain areas of fat no matter what--so is that what this is??? AAAARRGH!
Just thought I would join your vent...
Let me know if you guys have any good exercises for me!
Take care,
Robbit

I too am in the same boat as everyone else. I had two pretty big babies for my frame at the time (not now haha). I am trying so hard to lose around that area and it is so frustrating. I have heard that if you have any stretch marks that that skin will never really go back to what it was....after all it is stretched skin right.
I am starting to go back to college in a few weeks (I am 32yrs so I have been out for a while) and I told my husband that the first thing I do when I get out of school to reward myself is to have a tummy tuck.
He doesn't think that I need it but I do. Not only did I have the 2 kids but I had a surgery in march and I now have a scar from right below my ribs down to my pelvic bone (straight down the middle). Even if I could get my tummy back into shape totally I will still have this scar and I want it gone.
But, until then I am doing the crunches, watching what I eat and drinking water......sniffle sniffle. lol
Good luck to all of you on getting rid of your post baby tummies!!!!!!!!!
