I just started the 21 day plan in First magazine for women on the go (the September 1st issue). The plan looks easy to follow. It is based on Philip Goglia's book and web site, turnuptheheat. Does anyone else want to join me?

Sounds interesting, 24 lbs in 21 days? I'd need to read the mag first though I'm assuming?

Hi African Violet!I am also starting a 21 day challenge, you may have noticed in the forum. 21 days of exercise and every second day you add weights. I will also be paying attention to inches loss instead of weight. Maybe we could help each other get thought our 21 day challenges. I will be starting tomorrow! Wish me luck!! By the way, what does your 21 days entale? Maybe I could combine some of yours into mine. And when do you start? Talk to ya later.

I started today. There is an eating plan in First magazine (9/1 issue) that lays out for you what to eat and how much to eat. I am also exercising 4 times/week.

Does 24 pounds in 21 days sound a bit aggressive to anyone else here?
My most inspired week of all time, I lost 6 1/2 pounds (which would have put me on track for 19 1/2 pounds in 21 days), and I worked my TAIL OFF! I think I biked 160k that week. I felt good though.
Best wishes.
Sean.

someone mentioned at one time that the body can only burn 2 pounds of fat per week and if more is lost than that/ it would be other things..ie water, muscle, lean tissue etc. i have never read that myself but if that is true/ then it would not be healthy to lose more than that (2 lbs) although it wont stop me from at least looking at the diet....

I've also heard that the average healthy person who remains sedentary only wastes 1 1/2 - 2 pounds of lean muscle mass PER YEAR! I wonder where that other 20 pounds is coming from? Hair? Teeth? Kneepits? :D

Why, I must say, madam, your kneepits are looking particularly concave this evening! ROWR-r-r-r-r!

Great!! I'll keep you informed of my progress too. Also, I went to the turn up the heat web site and called the phone number listed. I was impressed that Mr. Goglia called me back personally and was very informative to talk to.

versusthefridge, How are you. I just read your posts on the K.I.S.S thread (keep it simple SILLY ;0)) and now here and I am getting that you are really against pills and rapid weight lose. I was wondering if you would share a little of your history with me and maybe what your method intells. I am new and still researching and any and all information helps. I just started the "Hate being fat" thread the other day. I need to loose about 90-100 pounds and would love to do it without it coming back.
Hope to hear from you, and to all of you out there I wish you the best of luck. My sister lost 29 pounds on the 21 day diet several months ago and then starting eating healthy and has kept it off. For some reason it did not work for me but I will find something that will ;0)

It can be done, but it may not necessarily be a good idea. I can't imagine anyone keeping all lean muscle tissue with a 3600+ calorie per day deficit in their diet, consuming the nutrients they need, and keeping their metabolism steady.
I know a lot of wrestlers. Cutting 24 pounds is do-able; however, it's not a solution in my humble opinion. Try doubling the time, staying hydrated, nourished, and energized. Are we that impatient? I'm curious as to what this diet entails.
