woohoo! I did it!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif !!

Sorry..any accomplishment is better than none eh??

good to be back...my brain wants to eat food but my body has had enough!!! I am still debating on when to start back...i def. will by the t-giving chall! I am sure we will bbq something on labor day and then on the 2nd i have to take my DD and myself to the dentist for work - yuck! she is gone this week so it would be easy in a way to start now..but it is less motivating to cook when it is just the 2 of us...I am really tired from the trip! well see.. maybe i will try to taper off but not go full force till 9-1..not looking forward to the scale tomorrow..maybe that will motivate me some, eh??

Roni I swear you sound just like me with the furniture. The other night it was late and dark and me and DH were walking through the living room and he stops and says "were's the coffee table???" I said "HUH"? He said "well you move stuff so much I never know what I'm gonna walk into"...

Well I ended up dong some yard work this evening, mowing the grass, cleaning the porches...the list is endless around here!

Goodnight everyone.

Alright....I did my 30 min jog and about 20 min of pilates. I feel pretty good despite the cold coming on. DH and his buddy aren't coming home till later tonight. I'm probably going to be up late tonight. Have any of you heard of melatonin helping you get sleep at night? I read it on the Thyroid Board. I think I might try it. Well, I better sit down and eat dinner before it gets too late. The guys will just have to reheat everything. BBL-Roni :)

Good morning friends; well, I'm hoping it will be! I didn't sleep well last night--darn allergies!!! I didn't take my meds while at the beach (I didn't need them there) but I'm paying for it now! It will probably be another week before the claritan kicks in now. So, I was up most of the night sneezing, stuffy, and with a headache. Feeling kinda drowsy this morning! I may need a nap today!

There is another reason I couldn't sleep too. Today is the first day that I put my baby on the school bus! Yup, Mr. Kindergarten--I'll probably cry harder than him! He is such a mommy's boy (and I love it) so it's hard for me to separate from him too. We went to school last night for orientation and the kids got to take a little ride on the bus (w/out parents). He cried when I put him on the bus but then settled down. This morning he will ride the bus with his sisters--so I'm hoping that will help. I even thought about not walking to the bus stop with him (although I can see him from our porch) just so he doesn't cry. But, if he really wants me to; I will!!! I promised him that I will be the first Mommy in line today to pick him up!!! And tomorrow (since I won't have any other kids) I promised him lunch after school and a little shopping! It's so hard to let go--though I am looking forward to having some time to myself a couple of mornings a week. I'm only watching 3 other kids now and they are just part-timers. I like it that way so I can go into school and help sometimes--something I could never do before with so many kids around all the time.

Well, I must go do my dishes from last night yet; then it's time to wake the kids for school. I've still got beans to put in the freezer and cookies to bake for the Preschool Open house tomorrow night. Wish me luck that the all make it there--not in my mouth!!! Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back later to check in---behave yourselves!!!LOL

Morning everyone :)

Welcome home Snoopy!! So the cruise was good eh? Was it terribly hot?? Did you get bored while being on the cruise ship??

It's kind of funny and a relief to hear these stories about sending your kids off to school, or on a cruise, or wherever and having a hard handling it. When we go on our cruise I'll be away from my daughter for 10 days!! I am soooo sick about it......It's going to be tough. Plus she'll only be in her second week of school and I feel terrible for leaving her so soon after school starts. But we didn't pick these dates for the cruise, we signed up with people from hubbies work...

Well I'll check in later. Kinda feeling depressed and tired today, don't know why. I got up at 5:00 to ride my stationary bike, but I just kinda sat there for a half hour and only went 1.25 miles. Not much effort. I usually do six or more hours. I just feel depleted of energy. It's weird.

Talk to you all later... :)

DP and Jen...this is my daughter's second week and I cry everyday. She cries, too. It is sooo hard on the both of us.I don't let her see me cry though. I cry as soon as I drive away from the school. :(

Roni...have you ever tried Simply Sleep? It works. I have no problem going to sleep while school is in cause I am so freaking tired come 9 pm. I have to take something sometimes in the summer though. Hope you find something that works for you! :)

AP...How are you feeling??? :D

Shel, Sue, Snoopy, Mommy, Dixie, and everyone else...have a great day. I am gonna do laundry and clean today. I will bbl! :)

I hope all of you mommies feel better!! I'm sure that's really hard. I am thinking of trying to get pregnant soon, and I am already thinking about things like that.

Anyway, I had a good day with eating yesterday. I grilled some chicken and then made a salad with it. YUM!

Question- I have been craving (and eating) a lot of salads lately. Sometimes I have two in one day. Is that bad? I use low fat, low cal, low carb dressing (it's delicious), mozzerella cheese, and pine nuts. Is it okay for me to eat that much salad if I want it?

I think eating two salads a day is good for you, as long as you put some protein in there with it!! Btw, what are pine nuts? I've never heard of them.

I was 2 more than when i left! hoping it is just some water and AF ..i really thought i did pretty well. i tried not to take too much and never cleaned my plate and went light on the breakfasts...but took advantage of the deserts though

Hi AP, JoJo, Snoopy, Shel, Dixie, Froggie, SM, Mom2, Darci, Lisa, Jen, DP, Red, and anyone else I may have forgotten. I hope you all are having a great day.
I am not feeling all that great. I have come down with some bug. :( The good thing is I am not hungry. I didn't even eat half of my dinner last night. So I didn't even look at the dessert. :D Anyway, my girls are napping and I think I will join them. BBL-Roni

Hi everyone! The baby is napping, and I just took a short one myself. The other two boys are downstairs playing so I thought I'd check in quick. Being the first day of school--the girls will have lots of exciting things to fill me in on tonite!

Roni---your daughter likes Boyd's Bears??? They are my absolute favorite; I'm a big collector. My cousin stopped in yesterday to give me a belated bday present: a cute little stuffed Boyd's bear. They were in Gettysburg last week and apparently there's a big Boyd's Bear shop there! I'll have to check it out one day!!! By the way--hope you are feeling better! ((RONI)))

JoJo: I know what you mean about the crying. He did okay when I put him on the bus; but he told me that he did cry a little when his sisters took him to his classroom! I was afraid that he would cry the entire 2.5 hours!!! My MIL works at the school (cook) so she checked on him twice and said he seemed to be doing fine! When I asked him if he had fun he said yes, but when I asked him if he was ready to go back--he wasn't so quick to answer. But, I think he'll be fine. The biggest adjustment for him is the students--he doesn't know anyone in his class. He's shy to begin with so making friends may take some time!

Froggie: I say you can never get too much salad. Being an Atkins follower--that's where most of my carbs come from so I'm all for it!!!!

AP: Thanks for the hugs! I needed them today. My hubby & I were discussing this morning how quiet it was in the house. I'm just so used to the sound of kids; it's eerie!!!! And my son is usually close by me at all times. When I go somewhere without him for any length of time; he asks Daddy a million times "when's mommy coming home?" My hubby is a truck driver-so Devin's so used to relying on me for everything; because Daddy's schedule has always been chaotic. Anyway, hubby went with me to pick him up from school--he was so surprised. Daddy even stopped on his way home from work and bought him some brand new sneakers for gym class--really cool Sketchers! Now he can't wait for gym!!! It's also got him excited about learning to tie his shoes---yippee!!!LOL

They are calling for scattered thunderstorms around here; but so far--nothing. It is pretty cloudy though- so I didn't swim at all today. I think we are all "swimmed-out" from vacation!!!LOL

Well,I have to go get a snack for the boys! Hope everyone is having a great day. BBL!

Jen

hi roni! hope you feel better soon!!
hi lisa!

on the subj of school starting...my "baby" (only one!) is starting middle school (6th) next week and it is really scary for me! she will now be with kids that are close to being in HS! instead of kindergarten, you know? we went to get her books and gym clothes last week and all around the school they had things focusing on getting the students minds set on college!! what a big jump i think this is from 5th to 6th grade! i heard somewhere recently this is the hardest transition for kids. (prob their parents too!)
anyway in the student planner/handbook we had to purchase from the school, the first page was all about what to do in case of gunfire!! Dont think this set very well with me either! this was not ever an issue when i was in school! it was not easy to read. It is unfortunate that it is necessary to explain these things nowadays! of course there are all the other things to have to start worrying about now drugs, sex etc! sorry to vent but...cant they stay in elementary school forever?!! geez! I think i only have another yr of her being a "little" girl and that is scary to me! :( I know you can only keep them sheltered for so long...but I am not ready!! I need chocolate!! ;)

Hi. I have had an awful day. I dont know why I blew my diet today..I didnt even enjoy the food. I'm really aggravated with myself and I'm still late, 6 days now. I'm gonna go for a walk this evening, maybe that will help my mood.

Well, gosh, I guess I must be the "old" lady of the group! I do feel for all of you who are sending their babies off to school for the first time - it is hard, but they have such a good time that after a couple days you'll do fine. My baby went off to college one week ago and that's been really strange for me - this is the first time in 26 years I don't have a child at home and the first time in 21 years no one in a local school. Plus, I am going to be moving 2000 miles from here in 4-6 weeks and leaving her at college here. It is going to be very hard for me to leave her - she and I have been very close, but it can't be avoided. I'm just hoping and praying that it will be like other schools, after a few weeks, I'll be adjusted and she will be too - heck, I think she already is. My DD is coming home for Labor Day to pick up her car and take back to school, but she told me yesterday, if she didn't have to pick up the car, she wouldn't come home! I am very glad she feels that way - I know she's starting to enjoy college life (hope she doesn't enjoy it too much!) and that will make the move easier for me (I think).

You've all heard it before - but enjoy these years with your kids at home/in school, they go so very fast, but they are great years even with all the activities kids seem to get involved with and you end up being involved with also. Enjoy those babies!
