Well i am back from Camp so i guess i better get back to my Atkins! I have gained sooo much weight this summer it is soo not funny! I am NOT going to get on that scale if my life depened on it! I feel ike such a cow! I was doing so well until the summer and I looked great. The compliments have stopped now from people because I know they can all tell I am gaining it back again! I feel like such a failure.....I can't believe I let myself gain weight after working so hard for so long!
I am starting back on atkins tomorrow and I will not go off even if the queen herself offered me cake! :(
I will try to keep on this board more so i can stay focused!

AWWW - hang in there Annes. It sounds like you have hit that wall, that magical wall that makes you say "what, how did I get here?" and then you can really do something about it. You have done this before and know what it takes and you can do it. We are here for you!!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself annes! I too, just came back from vacation ( from both ordinary life & Atkins). I'm sure I've gained back the 7 pounds I lost on Atkins but am trying not to be so hard on myself. I know that if I get right back on the wagon--the weight will come back off again. It all boils down to a matter of choice: I chose to stray from atkins and now I am choosing to deal with it! Hang in there gal; we're all in this together. I don't know about you- but when I was vacationing and eating whatever I wanted; I got to the point where I was just "sick" of food! I didn't go hog-wild and eat everything in sight; I just ate fried foods, ice cream--stuff that Atkins forbids. But I got to this point where after I ate it--I realized that it really didn't taste as good as I thought it would!
So, I'm with you on starting again! And there is plenty of time before the next holiday so as not to interfere with our good intentions!!! Keep me informed as to how you are doing and I will do the same!! Good luck my friend!!!

Thanks everyone! This is why I love this board!
Well, today is day of atkins and Iwas actually very excited to get back to it. I had my bacon and eggs this morning with decaf coffee w/cream..yum!
I have a roast in the crock pot for dinner that i will have with some green beans. Lots of water of course.
I know I can do this again I just got sooo mad that I put myself in a position of having to! Anyways, I will keep at it and I will do it! AGAIN!

Hi Annes, Hang in there - I did the same thing the week of my birthday - just ate whatever and whenever I wanted to. I was like you and said there was no way I was getting on that scale and I didn't for a week! I went back to Atkins immediately and when I did weigh, I was within 2 lbs. of my previous weight - so it did come off rather quickly. Hopefully it will for you too.

Hey Hun. Vacations can do that. Try not to stress about it. You know how you did it the first time, so you know you have the power to do it again. I just have one question for anyone who can answer me..
http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif Do you have to eliminate caffeine on Atkins? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif
I know very little about the diet, so I am just curious...Thanks

Hi Annes,
Glad to receive your response on my board.. Here I am to give you some support and wish you reach your goal again.. ^_^
By the way, what did you eat back in those four months of Atkins? And how long it took you to gain that 15 Lb? Did you just eat whatever you want ? If you did, then 15 Lb is not too bad... Guess what, my record was ate whatever I wanted and packed on 20Lb in two weeks..
Back on track, wish us luck and hope I can be down to 145 like you did...

hi jenny,
During my 4 months of strict atkins I followed induction to the letter! In the last month I added some atkins bars and shakes to the mis. I also did cardio 4xs per week and weights 3xs per week. I went off at christmas and hard the darndest time staying on again afterwards! I did continue to exercise from January to June and that is what saved me...during those 6months I did eat pretty much what I wanted (icecream cravings and all!) since the middle of june I have hard a very difficult time getting to the gym on a regular basis so I not only filled up on camping trips filled with beer and smorees but Iwasn't working out! That is how I gained the 15lbs back this summer. i gained in about 10weeks! Its not THAT bad but when I know where I was it really sucks!! I am going to stay on Atkins again until Christmas and this time I will continue through the new year. When my gym membership expires in January I am not renewing, I am investing in home weights and a cross trainer. Then I don't have to try and get out of the house...I have 4 kids and a hubby....so then i won't miss my workouts!
Good Luck to you and thanks for the support..I am so glad to be back in control! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif
