Congratulations, Roni! It feels goooood, doesn't it??? I was gonna do the diet thing with Roy, so I did step 1 and then he didn't come back! :(
AP...I had a b/f one time named Steve.
Roni...My DH won't even hold my purse in our on carport. I was putting the baby in the car one day and I was like "hold this"...he said "no, and don't ever ask me to do that again"...LMAO!
Well, I am really going to bed now!

That is funny JoJo! My DH is very afraid of feminine stuff but get this....he has to go into gay bars and buy drugs from these ppl. I thought he was going to die the very first time he did this. He called me after he got out...to vent. I could not stop laughing. He was picking up prostitues one night and he picked up a man dressed like a woman. He said he was ready to knock him out if he got too close to him. I do not know how he does it. He is always calling me to tell me everything that is going on at work.-Roni

Hi everyone....
Just wanted to start out by saying thanks to all the people who wished me luck on my test. I don't know how well I did but I have a feeling that it isn't good. But I have to consider that I haven't had to take a test for 14 yrs plus all the other distractions...even still if I did good that's great and if I didn't I will make it up with my other grades.
Anyway, I did good today on my "diet". I didn't over do it at all. I must admit that on the way home from class Long John Silver's was calling my name and it sounded so good. I believe it was something like "Mandy, I have been missing you. Come and have a crap load of fried fish, chicken, and fries. It will make you feel so much better". But, I was good and didn't stop. It was tempting though.
Anyway, I just wanted to say congrats to anyone that did good today and good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Morning everyone. I wrote this last night, 2 threads ago, and I just wanted to make sure everyone saw it b/c it really came from a special place in my heart (now that it is September 11th - not the eve anymore - I feel the need to share this even more:
On the eve of 9/11, I'm finding myself reflecting a bit and I'd just like to say how wonderful each and every one of you are. You have all become such an amazing support system, and such important ppl in my life. It amazes me every day that I have such a great group of friends....that I have never even seen! I am truley blessed for that. Thank you all, for posting every day, and keeping me smiling. Thank you, Andrea, for keeping us going every day. Love to all of you!

Good morning all! Well, atleast I hope it will be. I awoke at 3 am with this horrible stomach ache. Didn't last too long; but I think I'll take it easy with the food today just in case.
Don't have too much planned for today; except exercise! I'm trying to stay away from the tv today. With it being Patriot Day; the images of 9/11 will be on continuously--therefore, I will be crying most of the day! I'm such an emotional person--not sure how I'd handle a personal tragedy as so many people did that day. I'm saying an extra prayer today for all who perished, all who survived and their loved ones. It's the least I can do. I hope everyone takes time out today to thank God for the wonderful country that we live in and that we are all blessed to have special people in our lives!
AP: glad Dr. Steve was able to rescue you! A true hero--I must say!
Mandy: WTG on passing up Long John Silvers! I haven't been there in ages--probably because theres not one close by! But, when I go home to visit; I can't resist. Their chicken & hushpuppies are the best-----oh, I'm making myself hungry!!!LOL
Robbit: good luck on selling your house! I know it can be hard; but just be patient--it'll happen! I also know that's easier said than done!
Shel: I know you won't have time to read this but....WE MISS YOU ALREADY!!!!!! You are such a dear to do all those special things for your daughter. She probably won't even mind that you're gone---Heaven knows the grandparents will spoil her to death!!!!
Hate to rush but I must wake the kids for school. I'll check back in later this morning to see how everyone is doing! Don't forget to wear your RED, WHITE, & BLUE today! God bless America!!!

Well said, DP. I will certainly second that sentiment.
Today's gonna be a rough day with all the remembrance ceremonies and such... I am really gonna try so hard not to compensate with food. This seems like a good day to remember to be kind to ourselves, and to others.
Peace.

Oh, I hope I'm not too late to say goodbye to Shel... didn't have a chance to get on the computer last night. :( Shel, if you're reading this, I hope you have an awesome & safe trip, and don't spend too much time worrying about your dd. She'll love the gifts & kisses, and I'm sure her grandparents will all show her a great time. We'll miss you!!! (((((SHEL)))))
Roni: Glad to hear the new meds are making you feel better!
Lisa: Woohoo, glad you can finally post from work! We’ve been missing you!
DP: Your message on the 9/11 anniversary was very well said – I totally agree, it’s such a blessing to have such a great group of friends here! (((((Everyone!)))))
Angelro: Welcome to the challenge! Good luck!
AP: Glad your appt went well, after you got switched to the other room! That’s kind of funny, b/c our chiro has 2 rooms also. Whenever hubby & I get put in room 2, he always pretends that it freaks him out, so the receptionist gives in & switches us to room 1. You’ve gotta know my hubby, he’s quite the comedian – but then again, so is our chiro & his staff. Hope you’re feeling better this morning!
JoJo: ROFLMAO at your statement about AP getting rubbed the right way! :D
Jen: This is definitely an emotional day for everyone. Hang in there, sweetie! ((((Jen)))) I didn’t think about wearing red, white & blue until I got to work & read your message. But I guess I’m in those colors even though I didn’t plan it – my hair is red, and I’m wearing a white shirt & blue jeans! LOL
I'm going to try to go for another walk at lunchtime today, unless I have to work thru lunch - looks like that could happen today. We'll see. Anyway, I hope you all have a safe and happy day. Give all your loved ones an extra hug!

Mornin' girls!
How's everyone doing this AM?
I woke up feeling blue, but I guess if there's anyday to just embrace feeling blue, this would be it. Just to echo DP's beautiful thought, I wanted to say that its so great to come to a place where there is warmth and pure kindness. I haven't been here for long, but I really appreciate all of you guys...your thoughts, your silliness, your support, and everything.
Ap-yes! I finally am not hungry! :) (for now...) I'm glad you got through your appt....and glad you have such a good "steve" (i've got a "steve" ex-husband and crabby boss!)
Roni-yikes! I hope your dh is a cop. :p
WTG resisting that LJS call. It's so easy to give in after a hard day, but you are one strong woman!
DP-thanks again for posting such a wonderful reflection.
Hey Jen....i'm the same way about the TV. I seeing if I can listen to the radio for a little bit, just so I know what's going on, but that tv will just not go on today. its too hard.
Hi Jojo, World's Finest, Amanda, Houdini, and have a great trip Shel!
BBL!

GOOD MORNING!
BOY HAVE I MISSED EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!!!!
I'M BACK HOME, SAFE AND SOUND. DROVE INTO OUR DRIVEWAY AT 2:10 A.M. . . It was good to get out of the sky at 10:25 p.m. last night before today! I was a little nervous since we were in the airport yesterday when they were talking about the new "tape"....whewwww....boy was it good to set my feet back on US SOIL!!!
WHAT A TRIP IT WAS! IT WAS GREAT! I HAVE LOTS TO SHARE WITH ALL OF YOU.
ITALY IS A GREAT PLACE AND BOY OH BOY....WHAT FOOD, WINE, SWEETS, BREADS, CHEESES, DRIED ASSORTED MEATS AND PASTA THEY HAVE....... :) DAILY...AND FISH - I DID EAT LOTS OF FISH............ AS I DO LOVE FISH...BUT THEY HAVE THE BEST FOOD!!!
I ACTAULLY WEIGHED...I COULD NOT STAND IT..LOOKS LIKE ITS A LITTLE OVER A 4 POUND GAIN . . NOT BAD - I WAS REALLY WORRIED. I'M BACK ON IT TODAY!
THERE IS NOTHING DIET IN ITALY...AND I MEAN NOTHING....NO DIET COKES, NOTHING LIKE THAT (DID FIND A COCO-COLA LIGHT 2 TIMES) (ALSO KNOWN A DIET COKE...) THEY LOOK AT YOU LIKE YOU ARE CRAZY WHEN YOU ASK FOR ANYTHING "DIET" . . . EVERYTHING THEY EAT IS THE REAL STUFF...NO SPLENDA, SWEET-N-LOW...ONCE IN A WHILE AT BREAKFAST WITH COFFEE THERE WAS SOME DIET SOMETHING OR ANOTHER FOR THE SWEENTER! THE COFFEE WAS STRONG, I USED REAL SUGAR AND CREAM! yUUUUMMMMMM! I KNOW, I KNOW..BUT AFTER ALL I "WAS ON VACATION"!! LOL
BUT ALL IN ALL...I ATE PRETTY MUCH WHAT I WANTED . . I DID TRY NOT TO EAT TOO MANY SWEETS. ITALIANS LOVE THEIR SWEETS AT BREAKFAST..AND ICE CREAM...THEY EAT THIS STUFF 24 HOURS A DAY..AND I MEAN THE GOOD CREAM ICE CREAM! THE REAL THING! YES..I DID INDULDGE...BUT ONLY 4 TIMES! THERE WERE TOO MANY OTHER GOOD THINGS NOT TO MISS. LOL.... !!
DIET PRINCESS....BOY DO I HAVE "ITALIAN WEDDING" TRADITIONS FOR YOU...it was a great experience and of course we understood NOTHING during the ceremony...even though my DH was standing with the groom up front since he was "best man".....it was awesome - the bride's dress was handmade and embroidered with beautiful design and also many hand sewn small pearls.....
The reception was also interesting..more on that too....like about 5 6 7 courses of FOOD - i'm not even sure how to count them all....it lasted for 5 almost 6 hours.
"wave" to everyone! I see there are a few new challengers on board and so welcome to all of you too!
AP...HOW IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GIRL??? I'VE MISSED YOU...It does sound like you had a good dr. appt. with chiro!!! ((((((((((((AP))))))))))
I'LL WRITE MORE LATER. I'M SORTA "WIRED" AFTER BEING GONE SO LONG.
XOXO
HUGS TO EVERONE....AND YES, DPRIN..I CONCUR ABOUT OUR FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT...AND IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN SAID ON A BETTER DAY!

WWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRR RLLLLLLLLLL!!! welcome back!!! one positive thing about this sad day, was that i knew you'd be back here with us!!!! I cant wait to hear more about the wedding! im sooooooo glad you enjoyed the trip! and hey! 4 lbs??? im sorry, but NOT bad AT ALL considering you had no choices!!! wtg girl!!! :)
happy - im sorry you are feeling a little blue...but yea, i think we all have a little of that in us today. i just had to walk away from the tv, b/c i was just sitting there crying, watching the kids read the names.
jen - i know what you mean about it being so sad just to watch, even when you havent lost anyone there. i agree. its so hard for me to hear about the kids though. My ex-husband passed 2 years ago as well (just before 9/11) - my childrens father - so i just relate so well to them.
ug, what a hard day. again, hugs to all.

Mommyoftwo, Sorry I did not get back to you on the other thread, my Son got home and took over the computer! ARGGGGG
To your question, I lost the 50 pounds by doing a low carb and lower fat type of eating. I cut out bread, chips, pasta and things like that. I eat alot of salads and veggies. In fact this way of eating has become a way of life for me, I will not go back to my old way of eating because it was bad for me and high in fat. I went out the other day and bought a size 2 shorts, most of the time I wear a 4. I have never in my life seen that size!! LOL
I hope that helps answer you a little, I always like to help when I can! :)

Today's memories of the tragic events of 9/11/01 make my problems seem insignificant. In fact, we should embrace the fact that we have these small problems.
Let's all remember not only those who perished, but also those who survive and remember EVERY DAY, not just today.
God Bless you all, and God Bless our wonderful country.
On a lighter note, I am almost unable to move after my Pilates class yesterday! :) Makes me KNOW it did something for me! I like being sore! :)
Have a good day.

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip, Whirl! We've missed you! Wow, the food sounds so wonderful - I'm so hungry now! So great that you only gained 4 lbs - I went on vacation for 10 days (but actually didn't diet for about 2-3 weeks) and gained 10 LBS   So don't feel bad about your 4! ;)
It's great to have you back!

Hey ya'll!
After much research (mostly listening to you guys) - I went to Wally-Mart yesterday afternoon and bought Tonalin 1000-CLA. 60 thumb-size softgels with 1000 mg. of 74-82% Conjugated Lineolic Acid from Safflower Oil. Cost was $12.88. Started it last night.

The flag was a neat way to say it all.
Hello everyone,
I am new to all of this but would like to be a part of your support group.

Good morning all,
I just wanted to stop in and wish everyone luck today on their diets. I will be trying to stick to mine as much as I can. I will try to check in later but I have a memorial to attend today. Before signing off i wanted to share this with all of you.
Thank you for being there for me at my hardest time and thank you for all the support through my weight loss challenge. They say God works in mysterious ways and I guess it is true. Through the last three years I have lost a friend and gained many. God bless you all.
As the plane dove toward the ground
A few brave men could be found.
Struggling with the momentous decision,
to end the carnage with a Heavenly vision
We are going to die, so what will it matter?
Die like the weak, or like a Mad Hatter
One after the other, they took charge of their destiny
and entered the cockpit of their life's ending mystery
Rose to the challenge by saying "Let's Roll"
They didn't stop to take a poll
They knew what had to be done
to keep the terrorist from saying "We Won"
They are the heroes we often hear about
they take charge, when there is a doubt
As they were headed for the Capitol of this Great Nation they fought with much determination
To not let them destroy what was on their mind,
To bring us to our knees and bow to their kind.
The Center of our government was saved by those brave souls we thank them, for attaining their goals
Please God, take them into your fold,
Please enter their hearts, their souls to hold
GOD BLESS AMERICA
In loving memory
With a smile,
Mystery

What exactly does the CLA do? I just started taking it this morning. I'm taking the EAS brand from Walmart
the only ingredients I see are conjugated linoleic acid gelatin water and glycerin. Do I have the right thing?
I'm currently taking Zetacap Hq 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.I was going to take the CLA 3 times a day. And I was thinking of going back on TRimlife. What do yall think? The trimlife raises my blood pressure slightly. But it relly helps me with my energy level.

OMG you guys, you are not going to believe what I did! It has been so hectic since my DD and her DH moved in with us I cant think straight! Well, yesterday when I was going back to work after lunch with my DD in the car and my DS in the back seat, I was backing out and BOOM, I hit my DD car! Goodness, you would think I would know a car was behind me!! And to top it off my car is only a few months old, hers is a 98 I think. Can you believe I did that?? I have lost my mind thats for sure!!

He said he was ready to knock him out if he got too close to him. I do not know how he does it. He is always calling me to tell me everything that is going on at work.-Roni

YES!! It is!!
Hey, I have discovered something that might not be great for me, but I love them- the Chicken Caesar Cool Wraps at Chick Fil A. They have about 400 cals each (plus the dressing- I use only about 1/2 the packet). It's a lot of calories and like 51 carbs, but if I am just trying to maintain, do you think it's okay for lunch? No fries or anything with it, of course. I know the greens are good for me, and the chicken provides lots of protien (like 36 grams or something). It keeps me full until dinner.

Sure is a different day than 2 years ago, but it is cloudy and gloomy here to match my mood. I pray for those families left behind by such a tragic and senseless act of terror.
My diet has not been going good so I am hoping you guys will be my inspiration. I am going to have a hysterectomy next month and I am kind of worried as to what effect the hormones I will be taking will effect my little pot belly. Will it turn into a huge pot belly. I am 5'6 and weigh 148 or something like that. I have gained 30 lbs in the last 6 years. Started a new job, and got married. I think I need to quit work and get a divorce. Ha ha just to get back to pre fat weight.
