I don't have a big belly at all, but I do have a little that comes over my jeans at the waist when I bend. It's right around the belly buton area all around my stomach (I guess it's a roll).
Can anyone "prescribe" me any exercises that will take care of this? I know cardio but please be specific in what kind please (jump roping, walking, running, stationary bicycle riding, etc.) :) I've been doing the "Cardio Sculpt" for the Firm 1 system, will that take care of it in a few weeks?
Thans=ks :)

I'd maybe check out either Pilates (they do alot for body sculpting) or just look into doing crunches and sit ups. But I really don't know, I'm pretty overweight with a big belly, so who am i to talk?!

I have the same issue, and a personal trainer told me that you can't really pick a spot to lose weight in. You can increase your muscle in any one area, but to lose fat you have to do cardio and wait for that part of your body to go down with the rest of you.
(If anyone has any different answers, I'd love to hear them!)

I have a similar problem, worse after C-sections (both vertical and horizontal cuts), so a lot of my muscle has been cut through twice. That leaves me with a lot of scar tissue... which makes the problem worse. I do crunches, regular and oblique, but I don't do a lot of them- I just do them very slowly and controlled, and really work the muscles- I am up to 30 regular crunches and 10 on each side for the obliques. Like I said, not a lot, but they ARE making a difference in how my stomach looks. For the above reasons, I will NEVER have a perfect flat little belly, but the crunches are helping to get me as close as I will ever get. Once I lose my extra fat, it won't look bad at all!
Chipmunkis....I know how it feels after children. My stomach looked alright until I had my son. I had a regular delivery, but stretch mark city now lies on my belly and some extra skin. Do you think crunches will help w/the extra skin problem?

JNL, I am actually really lucky because, after two kids and a miscarriage, I only have about three stretch marks, all below the bikini line :) I have heard that as you get older, it is harder to get rid of "loose" skin, because of a decrease in collagen (which gives your skin its elasticity). I think that losing weight slowly and working out to tone everything is the closest you can get to a solution, but I think a lot of people end up having the extra skin surgically removed.
Yeah all mine are below the bikini line, but still I have alot (to me) to only be 26 yrs old and only 1 child.
