hi, i'm new here. i have a couple questions. i am 23 years old and i am pretty active. i have 2 jobs + i go to school so i rarely have time to slow down and do nothing. :round: i am 5'5" and i weight 145. i'm trying to lose about 10 lbs but no matter what i do i can't lose the weight. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif i do exercise and i only eat one meal a day. if i eat any more than 1 meal a day on a regular basis i will gain weight or just stay the same. i don't over eat either and i don't eat anything that is high in fat or calories except for maybe once a week. i have about 800-1000 calories a day. what's up with this, why can't i lose any weight? anyone have any suggestions for me? :(

The problem is clear,you are not eating enough, your body is in starvation mode and holding onto everything you put into it. If you are active then you should at the very least be eating 1200 cal. but probally more then that. Also, you should not just eat one meal but several small meals throughout the day to keep your metablisom up. What are your normal meals like? If would help if you gave us an example of what you eat in a day.

ya gotta eat for your body and your mind. Your body is hording the one meal that you feed it. If you can't find the time to have more than one meal, try carring some veggie snacks. Your body has shut down. Saving everything you put in it. Feed yourself!

Ouch! You eat 15x body weight to maintain and x10 to lose, make sure doing that. Another huge problem which will not be easy for you overcome because of time and habit is that one huge meal! Big nono, divide that meal up into little healthy ones, like 6 a day and cut out bread, potatoes, pasta,meaning carbs if really want to lose to max potential.

well i've tried to eat more than 1 meal a day but that makes me gain weight...even it's something like veggies or something really low in calories and fat. i don't know what else to do because i can't eat less than i do already. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif my boyfriend and all my friends eat more than i do and they don't gain weight from it but i do..so the only way i can maintain is to do what i'm doing now but that doesn't help me lose the 10 lbs that i want to do.
