I was doing well for a few days. I bought a pedometer, was watching (at least keeping track) of what I was putting in my mouth. All well and good and then I just fell into the hole I always get stuck in: I started binging late at night on ice cream. Then I started skipping breakfast and would come home famished, desperately searching for anything in the house and calling it lunch! I even ran out of dog biscuits so I started feeding the dogs chips as a substitute and of course I munched down on quite a few of those. Now tonight I reached an alltime low by digging into the halloween candy early! That was after warming up some bread I took from a restaurant meal the night before. Ugh! If only I wouldn't eat late at night. If only ice cream didn't have calories! What should I do? I need your help guys!

It's difficult, believe me... I can relate to those late night ice cream raids. Be strong. I fell off the wagon and kind of stayed there, waiting for someone to help me get back on. Yea, right. Now I am realizing that I have to get back on myself.
Don't beat yourself up about it. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/hammer.gif You're human. Try again next time, and if you have those ice cream cravings, enjoy a scoop in moderation, or switch to fat-free frozen yogurt.

Oh, and try not to skip meals. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif I know this can be difficult, but your body needs those calories to burn. I try to take something with me in the car in the morning, even if it's a piece of fruit, or a bagel, or a cereal bar... and I try to eat lunch and dinner.
Although it may not be easy to have great, sensible meals each time you sit down, something is better than nothing. You don't want to starve your body.

Jay,
Well I have to tell you it's easy to do! Fall of the wagon I mean. I love ice cream especially chocolate, and I use to do the same thing at night. That was my favorite late night bing(ice cream)! Well I have been on Atkin's for about 22 weeks. It was ruff on induction part of the diet, but Thank God! I finally got to the point of not craving ,or being hungry. I know it's really hard ,but you can do it! Get right back on the wagon, and keep going! Don't beat yourself up about it anymore.Just keep going! You'll make it!! Best Of Luck!! sjg

I definitely need to not skip meals. Thank you for your responses. I already feel like I can take on the day with renewed willpower! This weekend I couldn't find any clothes that would fit me at Sam's so I need to lose the weight slowly and watch those calories!

Hey Jay, we all do that (fall off the wagon) its part of the diet. You cannot stick to a diet if you dont take a break once in awhile and have something good.
I honestly believe that. So you get back on the wagon now. Party is over.... great while it lasted right.
You can do good again. I had home made mac and cheese last night and I had cake 2 nights in a row. and I thought to myself this dieting sucks. but now Im back on again because I feel better without the junk and I am loseing the weight.
enough lecture. Back on the wagon.

I'm back on it despite my pedometer breaking. Thanks for your support--my new "South Texas" diet is working great.
