Hi to all!! I am 5'9 225lbs. Wanting to get back down to my curvy figure of 180. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Best type of foods to eat, avoid. Best exercises? What has worked for you? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a bunch!! :)

Hi Laura and welcome to the health boards. You will find lots of info on here just reading through all the threads, and you can go back many pages too. The most popular way of eating on here right now is Low cal/low carb/low fat diet. It's kind of difficult at first but the weight definitely comes off if you can stick with it....

Hi Laura! Have you ever dieted before? If so, did you find something that worked for you? That's the key - to find a plan that makes you lose weight, but is something that you can stick with. You can try what Shel suggested, or try just lowering one of those things (carbs OR fat OR calories), or try simple portion control - different things work for different people. Are you getting any exercise? Walking is great for weight loss, but you have to walk at a fast pace, not stroll along. Try to get some cardio & some weight training. The weight training doesn't have to be anything major, just maybe some work with hand weights. Have you ever tried "The Firm" videos? They're great for a weight workout. One of them also incorporates some cardio, too. Sorry to ramble on so long, but hopefully you'll find some useful info here! Good luck!
