View Full Version : Hi, I'm New, Hoping to get support

It took alot for me to write anything, just been waiting and reading alot of the great support you have to offer. I need to lose about 100lbs. My problem is motivation...I have none! I bought the atkins plan, haven't done it.. bought cla, haven't done it and a whole lot of work out tapes...well you get the idea. I know what I should be doing and not doing, and I know I want to look and feel better, But nothing seems to get me past my "you're gonna fail again" attitude. I could really use some encouragement. Thanks for letting me go on and on.

ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!!! ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT, ALL MONTH LONG!!!!! YOU GO GIRL(?)!!! OK how's that for some encouragement, have ya had enough or should I go on?

Anyways...I know how frustrating it can be to lose weight, but 1st you have to commit to a plan and (try) to stick to it for as long as you can. But you'll get GREAT support here. Glad ya came to our site and welcome.

Hi Sade and welcome to the boards!!! Youve come to the right place!!! Im using CLA... Ive lost 10 pounds in about 5 weeks! We all support one another here through the ups and downs. You can do it, we know you can!! Talk to ya soon!!

You can do it! I know that its hard to start (and even harder some days to keep going) but you have to tell yourself that you are worth doing this for. You will get all the support in the world here, so join in and get started! :)

Hi Sade! Welcome to the board! I'd like to make a suggestion... set SMALL goals for yourself. Don't look at losing 100 lbs, that's gonna hinder your motivation. Try joining the Mini-Goal Challenge that Chipmunkis set up - the point is to try to focus on a small weekly goal. Maybe your goal for week 1 could be something like exercising 2 or 3 days & losing 2 lbs? You can do this! We are all here for the same reason, and we're all in this together. Join us on the Thanksgiving Challenge too - just choose a reasonable goal that you want to try to reach by Thanksgiving, and try your hardest to make it. You'll find tons of advice & support everywhere on this board! Good luck!!!

Thanks so much all of you, I just got up and read everything you all were saying, I feel like I might be able to take that first step. I will take my CLA today, and try to eat better, The exercise??? I think I need To be pushed there, Don't like it a bit..I know,I know... not many people do. I will Try to set a goal for Thanksgiving. Baby steps.. Thanks so much for being there. I'll keep in touch.

Hi Sade and Hat and welcome. first off you need to lose the attitude that you are going to fail. you are not going to fail because we wont let you. you have to be positive about what you need to do for yourself.
cant start out saying Im going to fail.
We have no "failers" here. we are here for you. decide which diet you want to try and go from there.
Sade you bought all the atkins things you need. today is the first day of the rest of your life. start reading the book its not hard.
Hat same thing for you , you have to start with a plan and a goal and go from there.
we all on this board have had bad days and good days and through each others support we get thru it.
you will too. make up your mind that you ARE going to do it. thats the first step.
good luck to you both. PS If you think you are going to fail you will.

Welcome a-board sade! First of all; let me take that "i'm gonna fail again" attitude from you and stick it in on of my many junk drawers! Because that is truly where it belongs! I believe that you cannot fail--unless you don't try. You got the Atkins book, the cla, and some tapes--I'd say you are well on you way to trying! I'm glad that you've introduced yourself to us at this point because you were missing out on alot before you came here. This is the best place for motivation & support. We can tackle this weight thing together; we deserve to look and feel our best!!!! I'm looking forward to reading about your progress.....because I know YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I'd also like to welcome Hatetheplaceimn! I'm hoping that after hanging out with the gang for a while--you'll be ready to change your username to : lovetheplacesimgoing!!!!!! Because that will be the result here; just hang with us and we will lead you down the path to a healthier, more happier you!

I must say; I really admire you guys for coming here. I haven't 100 pounds to lose and somedays it's hard even for me to stay motivated! I think you are taking the first important step on y**** and you are to be commended. It's important to surround yourself with people who are seeking to achieve the same goals--it's great motivtion!
