Both when I was overweight and now, I feel that I must "apologize" to those around me when I eat. I say things like, "I KNOW I shouldn't eat this." "I KNOW this is bad for me." "I am such a pig- I know."
Does anyone else do this? I think it's interesting that we feel so guilty about indulging that we feel we much apologize for doing so.
Most likely, the people to whom we are apologizing don't even care, but I guess it makes me feel better or something. I even do this with my husband. I'll say, "I know this is bad, but I exercised today and have been good all week."
Just wondering if anyone else does this.

yeah...sometimes...i think it might be out of a fear of judgment...when basically we are just judging ourselves....we apologize ahead of time thinking that the other person might be thinking...why are they eating that when they are on a diet...or they are gonna gain all their weight back etc etc....
sometimes i do it as a defense..like to stop people from making a judgement because it is unwanted...like..dont say anything...i know what i am doing and it is my choice..you know??? it just depends on what mood i am in at the time!!

I feel the same as both of you..and I have and do the same thing about eating something that I know I shouldn't . . isn't it funny how we do that?

I agree. Once we get into the mindset of the things we can and can't eath once we go outside of that list we apolize for nor following it.
But personally, if you have lost weight you should be able to feel comfortable eating a little more on one day.
If you can't stop apologizing and trust me I've been there, then try to stop eating what you can't.
Let's just try to support each other because we are at least trying right? Most people don't even care. I think that is a big plus.
