For almost 2 years now I've had this cramping in the lower left side. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and the results came back...I had an ovarine cyst!! Pretty scary for a 19 year old! Then she sent me for another ultrasound about 4 months after that and when the results came back, they told me that it was gone....is this possible. Why do I still have that pain? I work at a sports clenic, and I asked one of the female doctors there and she said that if I only hurt around the time of my period then I shouldn't worry about it. But sometimes it will just come in mid cycle....
:(
has anyone experienced this type of problem??
I would love to hear from you! thanx

it is actually common for women to develop cyst (especially during pregnancy) which go away by themselves. I have had this happen 3 or 4 times (twice during pregnancy) and I am 23. Yes it is increasibly painful at times but they go away with time and from what I have read and been told there isn't really anything you can do about them and they don't actually damage anything. I seem to recall the doc saying it was cuased by extra hormones and that when they rupture or leak the hormones cuase cramping. Generally my experience with them was a soreness with sharp pain on movement, followed by massive cramping and pain for about 24 hours when they ruptured
Just keep an eye on it and if it gets to amazingly painful always go in to the doc and have it checked out just in case.

thank you both for telling me all of this. It makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one.... :)

I have had reoccuring cysts beginning at age 18. If you are taking the pill they help shrink cysts. The dr put me on them to get rid of my cysts. I like you still had pain and found out too late 5 years later that i have endometrosis. At age 25 i ended up having to have a hysterectomy and not able to have children. Please if you still have pain go to OBGYN. The earlier they dected the better chances of having children.
Good luck

I am 24, and I've had off and on cramps from an ovarian cyst from the time I was 14 until I was 20. I'd get severe cramps on my right side...sometimes so severe that I'd have to go lie down. The doctor's thought I had appendicitis (spell?) until they did an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed one rather large ovarian cyst. At such a young age, they told me that I shouldn't have surgery to remove it because it could sterilize me. When I was 20, I got pregnant,
after having my first son, I no longer had any pains. I went back to my doctor and he said that it had "disappeared". Apparently this is fairly common. I only hope I don't have any more. Good Luck! :)

Other than Birth Control Pills, what will eliminate ovarian cysts? Any herbal remedies used?
