Okay...one more question. Is it true that the older we get, the more we bloat? Why is that? My bloating seemed to have crept up on me and it's kind of miserable. Either that or my metabolism really came to a halt...again! It did that when I was in my very early 30's...didn't think it would slow down again! Do many of you other women that are approaching 40 bloat and if you do, what do you do to make it go away???????

I only get this way near when I "think" I am going to have a period. I feel it sometimes whether I have a period or not. My cycles are so erractic lately.

Age here is 42 going fast on 43. I work out 2x/wk. for a total of 3 hrs/wk. Plus 3 teenage boys, husband, work 30-40 hours/wk. I guess I feel working out helps a great deal. I am by no means a body builder, but feel the need to keep on top of the inevitable mid life weight gain. I struggle for every pound I can keep off.

Other than this, just eat a low fat, low carb, diet. Avoid salt, fast food, etc. Get regular exercise, and limit the items that can cause weight gain. Just walking more than you currently do can make a difference. Add 20 more steps each day then the day before.

Good luck !

I'm voting on the metabolism thought.
If bloating comes with age then it would probably be due to a hormone imbalance.

My bloating seems to be around when I haven't had a BM, ate too much, or just feel a little gassy. It goes up and down. One day I will feel so bloated that I won't feel like eating much, then when I don't eat much, my tummy tends to flatten, or if I have a BM, my tummy "seems" to go down, I don't know> I have had cessareans and have had adhesions before that I had to have removed, maybe they're back.

Thanks!!!
