Last night, as I was using the washroom I noticed that I had started my period...or so I thought...When I woke up this morning, I was surprised to see that there was absolutely no bleeding over night and all day today there has been no further bleeding. This is very strange for me. I am a healthy 19 year old whose periods are usually regular and last for 5-7 days. I should be getting my regular period around this time and a one day deal doesn't seems too good to be true. I'm hoping someone out there has heard of this strange occurence or could give me some insight.
Thanks...

if you had no pain or sex, it's probably a mini-period.
these foxy babies happen to me occasionly, i get a one-day or less period, nothing for 2/3 days then either a very heavy or very light period!
mother nature likes to play her little game!
if you could be pregnant, that's a whole different story....
two words, implantation spotting.....

All depends on your sexual activity, stress level etc..
Not to sscare you but with both my pregnancies I got my period when I was supposed to only for one day then bye bye for 9 months.
Any more information? Are you stressed out at the moment? Are you sexually active? Any chance your pregnant?
Good Luck and God Bless ~ Otherwise you may never know why. Most Doctors won't even look at you until your period is messed up for three months or more.

here's an update, and thanks for your thoughts so far!!
Last night, after I got offline, the same thing happened again!! only this time there was MUCH less blood than Monday (more like what would happen on my first-second day of menstruation). It only seems to happen after bowel movements, but it is painless and there is no subsequent spotting. I was under a lot of stress last week, with exams and such, but now I have nothing due, so I'm not under as much stress.
As far as sex goes, yes I am active, but always have taken precautions and used contraceptives with no "accidents"....at least not as far as I know!!
I have heard of implantation spotting but I'm confused as to what exactly it is and when/how it happens. Any further thoughts would really help! That is my biggest fear at the moment.
Thanks!

Hi
"I have heard of implantation spotting but I'm confused as to what exactly it is and when/how it happens. Any further thoughts would really help! That is my biggest fear at the moment."
Satine-I am no expert, but I believe implantation spotting is the temporary, light bleeding that occurs when the fertizlied egg(pregnancy)is trying to attach itself to the uterus.
I would take an HPT to make sure you are not pregnant. If you're not pregnant, then I would not worry too much about it. Our periods are very volatile and can change on you at the drop of a dime. Or you can always call your doctor and have him/her check it out.
Let us know!
