Anyone experience fibroid tumors...if so what treatment did you choose. I have about a 2-inch tumor and my uterus is also enlarged. I see my doctor in 2 weeks to discuss options. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

You might find some helpful info in Christiane Northrup's Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom.

Good luck!

My pain was so bad that I chose a hysterectomy.
My gynecologist didn't believe I had a fibroid at the time of my exploratory laparoscope.
She thought I "might" have a "little" adenomyosis
and decided that we'd just yank out the female organs since I was 46 and already had a bad family history of female cancer. So I went for the intense treatment because my pain levels were so bad.
They eventually found both Adenomyosis and a Uterine Fibroid along with Endometriosis and a massive amount of adhesions making a mess of my colon and my ovary.
Adenomyosis is the internal Uterine version of endometriosis and is usually the reason for a very tender Uterus and pain with sex or even with activity.
Since the Endometrium growns into the Uterine muscle
it usually can't be diagnosed correctly until the uterus goes to pathology after a hysterectomy.
However, a doctor who knows the condition can usually tell by the feel of the uterus which tends to swell and becomes painful.

i went on the pill (levlite) because of my fibroid tumor. i go from pack to pack without skipping a week. ive been doing this for 2 yrs and have had no problems. it has made my tumor shrink also. something you might ask your dr about.

Yvonne....if you don't mind me asking...what is your age? I'm 39 and even though I don't smoke I know there can be risks with birth control over age 35.
