Ladies!
Who can relate here? Does anyone shave under your arm SO closely that you may knick yourselves, see a little red spot, touch it and it hurt like heck?? What's up with that? How can a little red spot hurt so big???! I didn't even feel it until the next day!

Yes, this has also happened to me on a couple of occassions. You break the skin a little when you shave close and then it will sting like hell when you use deodorant. It normally heals really quickly though, but be careful as these can become more infected and develop into a pus filled cyst under the arm. Hopefully, your natural immunity should prevent this however.

doesn't burn, it hurts more like a zit or boil. Nothing was there though other than a little redness. I noticed it when I reached up in a cabinet to get something. What a way t find out!

That can still happen if you happen to nick yourself with the razor. It does not have to hurt in the beginning.
