Hi - I'm on OrthoTriCyclen (have been for 2 years) and my period is 3 days late so far - it's always right on time or early. When should I start to worry? I thought when you were on the pill, you were essentially never late. HELP! thanks so much.

Have you thought that pregnancy might be a reason for you being late?? If you are sexually active then a pregnancy test would be in order. You can still get pregnant while on the pill no matter how perfectly you take it.
Second have you missed or been late taking any of the pill? IF so that could be a reason for it being late.
Also if you have been under alot of stress,lost or gained weight even on the pill that can cause you to be late.
You can also call and talk to your doctor and see what she/he has to say.

I would have a pregnancy test done. You are still likely to get pregnant on the pill. If you turn out not to be preg., then I would go to your doctor. It may be that it's time for a different kind of pill.

This happened to me one time on OrthoCyclen - I never got my period. I went and got a pregnancy test - negative. I bought 3 more and they were all negative. Of course I freaked out (convinced I had cancer or some other strange disease). I went to my doctor. I was not pregnant and was not pregnant. Wierd huh? He said sometimes that just happens, especially if you skip a pill and make it up the next day (which I hadn't done). The next month I was back to normal.
You should get a pregnancy test to see what's going on - probably don't need to get 4 like I did. They do sell 2 in a box now if you are paranoid like me. Then call your doc and tell him what's up.
