I found a rather hard pea sized cyst (I think) on the outer edge of my labium and one just on the outside of my anus. They are hard and the one near my anus is a bit elongated. Does anyone have any idea what this might be. I'm thinking cysts and I am seeing my doctor in a few days but I was just curious if anyone has experienced this already.

Hi there -
What color are they? I am glad you are seeing your doc quickly. :) I haven't had this, but if they are not colored, and hard, maybe they are glands. I get a hard, pea-sized lump in my neck when I am stressed, or tired, or sick. I panicked, ran to the doctor, and he said its just a gland/lymph node, and if it goes away, its fine. It will stay hard for a few days, then go away. If it is really red, or white, it might be something else. Good luck.

Thanks - they are hard and I have a feeling that it just might be a blocked gland - no colour to them though. Thought it was an ingrown hair and tried to bust it - got mostly blood and a bit of puss [sorry if I'm grossing anyone out].

You got fluids out of it? You shouldn't if its a gland, I don't think. When do you see your doc?

I do apologize if this is gross. I see my doctor on Saturday. It actually sounded like it popped lit a zit when I stuck a sterilized needle in and the size went down a little. I guess I'm getting a little freaked by this. Just answer me one question if anyone has the answer...are cancer cells hard????

Skin cancer always has some kind of color changes, and isn't usually found in your genital area. I did think an std, but you say they don't hurt. I have no idea, which is nto surprising, as I am not a doc. But, I don't think its cancer, if that helps.

PHEW!!! Well I was certainly sweating bricks last night but I got in to see the doctor today and she said it is just cysts and I don't have anything to worry about :) :bouncing: soooo if anyone should come across this in future - don't even be tempted to squeeze them in the event that if there is a bit of infection there you will run the risk of spreading it to other tissue...so don't do what I foolishly did and squeeze the heck out of it and stick a needle in it. I don't have any infection - I tell you I was thanking God coming out of that appointment....many times.

Thank goodness for that!
I get those once in awhile and I am a "sqeezer" too! Hard not too!
Alot of times (for me anyway) it is an ingrown hair that causes these. They are SOOOO sore!
The best thing I have found (and no, it is NOT squeezing!) is to take warm sitz baths and also take a facecloth that is hot (not too hot though!) and just place it there. This will bring the cyst to a head and it will pop on its own.
