Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there is using or has used Yasmin and had positive experiences. My doctor has given me some samples to try. I've tried several other brands over the years but experienced some side effects which made me have to switch pills.
Thanks! :bouncing:

I just switched to Yasmin from another bc pill due to some unwelcome side effects. I've been on it for 2 months and I like it MUCH better. The first one I was on caused constant spotting and wiped out my sex drive. The Yasmin has been great.

I have been on Yasmin for month #2 and I have found that my breasts have enlarged significantly (even though I have always had large breasts). With this, they are extremely tender ALL THE TIME. I am hoping this will go away!! Other than that, I haven't seen any major side effects like I had experience with Ortho-Tricyclen. Anyone else experience this?

I've been on Yasmin for almost 6 months - it works great for me! I lost some weight and the boobs did get bigger...woohoo! It also cleared up my skin - I used to have the classic T-zone complexion - there's not much oil on my nose anymore. I am experiencing some dry patches - possibly eczema or dermatitis but cortisone cream and shea butter seem to be working to my advantage on that one. Overall, I'm happy with my decision to be on Yasmin...good luck!

I've been on it for over a year. It's ok. I gained some weight and I have a lot of breast sensitivity for about 10 days-two weeks before my period. But there are fewer side effects than with other pills I've tried.

good luck.

I tried Yasmin for 2 months, but found that I became very depressed and lethargic. I also experienced worsened acne although this may have cleared up had i spent longer on this pill. In the end I wasn't enjoying it so I went back to Diane 35, which works best for me.
Good luck!

When I was on Yasmin, the oil and acne on my face cleared up in 4 months. This was the BEST side effect!! :) Also, my periods were MUCH shorter and lighter.

However, it also made me have no sex drive, and I gained 8 lbs in 6 months. :( So, I switched to OTC-Lo and I'm happy now. Yasmin had fewer bad side effects than other bcps that I'd tried in the past, though. Good luck! :)

Just out of curiosity, how hard it is to switch back and forth between different types of birth control? I'm currently on Desogen and my doctor wants me to try Yasmin to help keep my skin clear. If I don't like the way it's making me feel, is it easy enough to jump back into the Desogen without any consequences? Thanks!

I was on Yasmin for a while and absolutely loved it! It made my extremely heavy periods much lighter and a lot more tolerable. But I had to stop it because my PCP put me on Cozaar for high blood pressure and the literature that comes with Yasmine indicates that you cannot take it with, of all things, Cozaar. So now I am on Loestrin, and I don't like it as much as I did Yasmin.
