if you do lose weight, is there still some extra skin? i thought it would just go away...
i hate to do surgery to get rid of the extra skin, i just wanna get firm, not extra-skinned :(

To my knowledge, the only time there is extra skin is if you lose a huge amount of weight in a short amount of time, like on those silly fad diets. People who get surgery to lose weight also have extra skin, but it's generally removed while they're in surgery.

Skin is elastic, but it has its limits (which is why you get stretch marks when you grow too fast or gain weight fast).

If you lose weight gradually your skin will shrink with your body and should stay firm.

Yeah, well I don't know......I lost 50lbs in like 5-6 months from getting off of antidepressants.....now i'm underweight but i do have lose skin on my thighs and stomach and it's gross. it's been that way for about 8 months now. i'm building muscle to fill it up, though.
