I went to the Doc finally. My diagnosis was Bartholin's Gland Cyst. Has anyone ever heard of this or had it?

Basically she said the gland backs up and swells forming a cyst. It is the size of a big grape now. If it gets to the size of an egg it will have to be drained or of their is a chance it could become infected. Ick.

So for now I am supposed to keep an eye on it.

I am sooo glad that I came across your post. I've been worried for a few weeks about this lump under my labia. I looked up Bartholin Gland Cyst and I think that is exactly what it is! It doesn't hurt at all, I would have never noticed it if I wasn't washing around there in the shower. What all did your doctor say about it? Should I be worried? It's a little smaller than a grape and it is not painful. Thanks again for posting! I am relieved!

No you don't have to worry but if it starts to grow to the size of an egg or become painful then you have to have it drained. From what I gather if it becomes infected then you are in for some pain.

You can get the gland removed via surgery also.

I am going to see where this leads me an decide then. I am in no pain at all either.

I read your other post before you went to the Dr. and I thought it sounded like a cysts, just couldn't remember what they called them! You can get those type cysts on your breast and inside of thigh also. They are scary at first until you find out about them.

Actually the cyst is from the gland is the labia that produces secretions. I am not happy I have it but it is better than hearing something worse.

Maybe you remember I replied and told you thats what I thought it was?

I have gotten them too and they do go away. Take a washcloth soaked in warm water and hold it over the area 2-3 times a day or take a few warm baths, honestly that should take care of it.

Since you are so aware of your body you have caught it before it gets big, they only really drain them when they are, like you said, the size of an egg.
I know it's not comfortable but it is pretty common!
