I'm so happy. I had my first GYN visit today. It wasn't nearly as bad as the horror stories I have read. My mom mentioned last night she saw no reason for me to go, but it's a good thing I did. Turns out I have had a "very bad" yeast infection. You all will think I'm crazy, but I was happy with the diagnosis. I have so many other problems that no one can every diagnose or fix because they're mostly reactions from my GERD medicines. It's great to have something that I can fix. I'm actually a little worried because I've *always* itched down there, and it makes me wonder how long I've had this infection. I told my doctor quite frankly I've never talked to anyone so I wasn't aware of what was good, what was bad, what was supposed to be, what wasn't and she made a good point that 'if parts of your body are functioning normally you shouldn't be aware of them'. So, yay, I can finally get some releif after all this time. I'm sure theres many of you who agree that there is nothing worse than a horrible itch you can't scratch.

Good for you for going! I know how hard it is the first time. And now you're going to get relief. I wish every young girl would go. It's not so bad!!

I'm glad you went too, you probably won't be so worried the next time.

Wanted to ask you - is itching the only symptom you had for your yeast infection? Didn't you have a discharge also?
