no! there's nothing wrong with you OR the pills! That advise above is simply rubbish. A lot of women don't get a period on birth control pills, especially a low dose pill like Alesse. It's not uncommon at all, and it doesn't mean that the pill isn't working either. Like with depo, it can just surpress your period. For some women, the hormones just don't trigger a period. As long as you're giving yourself a placebo week, so your body can bleed if it wants, your totally fine.
If you're really worried, you can call your gyno, but as long as you're taking your pills properly, consider yourself lucky that you're not getting a period, I wish mine would go away :)

Hmmm to the best of my knowledge, Alesse is a multi hormone pill, not just a one hormone pill.

True, Aleese contains both estrogen and progestin...the only "one hormone" pills that exist are the so called "mini-pill" formulations that contain only progestin.

I don't want to scare you or anything but I was on Aleese, and I took it everyday at the same time and I got pregnant from it and now have a two year old. I would call you dr and switch.

You can take a pill "faithfully" but if at any point you've been on antibiotics or other medication that can weaken the effectiveness of the bcp, or if you've had a bout of illness that included vomiting or the runs, then that can effect the protection that you've been using the bcp for. I say get a pregnancy test.

PBJ- did you use any back-up contraception such as condoms while you were on Alesse?

There is no proof that low dose pills like Alesse don't protect as well againts pregnancy as higher dose pills. You either didn't take the pill correctly (which would be my guess, even though you claim you did) or you were that small failure rate. Alesse is very effective, She has nothing to be worried about.

i caled the obgyn again today. she told me that as long as i was takeing the pills like im supposed to and i am -alesse- she said that i have nothing to worry about, that if i dont have a period on the next cycle to call her and get an appointment with the dr. she also said that i have nothing to worry about. that some women dont even have a period while takeing birthcontrol pills. it does scare me on pregnancy cause i have had 2 miscarrages and 2 dnc surgerys. 1 in 2000 i was 3 months and 1 in 2001 i was 4 1/2 months and i do not want to be pregnant cause i am scared of another miscarrage. i have a 14 yr old son and the preg. went fine. i am 33 yrs old. thats why i am so scared of preg. and i do take the pill alesse on time every day.....trust me!

Im on Yasmin, and like it okay, but thinking of switching to Alesse, only because I heard that it's one of the lower estrogen b.c.'s.
I have endometriosis, and estrogen is what makes it grow.
Not concerned about getting pregnant. Endo already took that from me.
