Hello,

I am writing this for my brother who has so many of the symptoms of Addison's. Yet he also has hallucinations. I read on drkoop.com that hallucinations can by a symptom but I have not seen anyone here mention them. Does anyone know??

He has the skin darkening without going in the sun, fatigue, muscle spasms and weakness, irritability, mood swings, appetite lose, chronic diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, depression, difficulty sleeping, breathlessness, weight loss, distended abdomin, and I can probably add a couple more. He was told that he is schizophrenic because of the hallucinations, but schizophrenia does not have all the rest of the symptoms above. We are desperate to find answers for him...he has no medical insurance because he has not been able to work in many months due to this illness. The doctors just don't seem to care if you don't have the money to pay right away. What a sad country (USA) this is that we can't even take care of our sick, but we can build all kinds of weapons of mass destruction. Anyway...to avoid a tangent...

any insight is very appreciated!!!!

Hello, hope this isn't too late. Your brother needs to get checked out ASAP! With or without the hallucinations. "Going crazy" is a common feeling of non-diagnosed Addisonians (I know from research and my brother and I both have it). Although I didn't have hallucinations, when I was extreamly tired I would have sever emotional reactions and would sometimes visually distort images. Especially if I had any kind of digestive problems. In fact, now that I think of it, I see wierd things when on ceproflaxin (sp?) for a kidney infection, prior to my diagnosis. Best of luck to you and let me know how it works out.
