I have a feeling that a young friend of mine is smoking, but I don't know for sure how long it has been going on, and I don't even know for sure. All I know is, this friend of mine has not been talking to me lately, is constantly late to school, and just one time, I sort of smelled something. Maybe I was just making myself think that I smelled something to justify my opinion.
I have not asked him/her or his/her parents. I'm hesitant in doing anything about it because I'm afraid that 1)the person will find out I told & be negative towards me 2)the situation might just get worse...like, what if I tell & the person just smokes even more b/c everyone knows he/she smokes...and I do not want that to happen.
I've kept this quiet, and I don't know anymore if I should keep doing this. To tell or not to tell? That is the question.

Good mornin' all...BTW, this young friend is really young - I think 13 years old. That's not good.

WHAT A LOSER :( . Oh my goodness, at school, this "friend" of mine was telling some of his/her "new" friends about stuff, and I mean, this "friend" of mine is just in an unassistable situation. I thought the smoking was bad. I did not know about all the things he/she did over the summer. How embarrassing of me to think he/she needed help over some pitiful smoking issue when he/she has been up to worse crap anyway http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif . I'd rather not say what happened at school today, but I hope the smoking gives him/her lung or heart disease. I know that is not a good thing to ask for, but some people deserve it :( .

Sorry, but that was a crappy thing to say. My mom died of heart disease. No one deserves it. I don't care what your friend did... do you really think someone deserves to die because they pissed you off? Grow up. And, to make your life easier, find some new friends.

I know...I know...
Now that I think about it, I guess I was overreacting there...
But you know, sometimes people just make you soooo mad. That is wrong to want something like that to happen, and my condolences to the person whose mom died...but I was really ticked off that day. I'm over it now, but you know how sometimes things just keep irritating you at the back of your head...the insults that were spat at me were worse than wanting someone to have a disease, especially when you're only telling them something for their own good. I think you'd be hurt too if you were in my shoes, but okay, ya, I know wishing for someone to have a disease is wrong, but the irritation and sourness is still there. I can't exactly post what this person said to my friends and me because I don't want to lose membership to healthboards, but I think you got the idea. I got a test tomorrow, so I gotta go...YOU guys stay away from smoking, ok? It can mess ya up. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Hope you do well with your test today. And take some advice from an old lady-- if your friends or acquaintnaces are upsetting you to the point that they seem to be, kick 'em to the curb and find someone else to hang with. Life is too short to spend with people who hurt your feelings and treat you with disrespect.

(I took the test today, and it was pretty easy) Looks like my "buddy" is talking about me behind my back. But I am not going to be a baby about it. People know who I am and what I am like, so I'll just leave that alone...but it still sucks.
