Please help- I've noticed mucous in my stool. I noticed it about 6 months ago. It was a normal occurance up until about 1 month ago and then yeserday I started getting some slight cramping and mucous in my stool again. Sometimes I will cramp up running to the bathroom to find that ONLY mucous comes out and then I feel better for another hour or two. Does anyone know what this could be??

I've had that before, my doc said it can happen from over straining, like if your were constipated, ect...If your really concerned get it check out by your doc.

That sound like it could either be IBS, or hemmroides. IBS, is where your bowl isn't normal and you have problmes keeping regular (constipation or diahhrea) and cramps are also a symptom of IBS! Then it could also be internal hemmroids. So when you strain, mucas can come out! There's a mucas lining inside your intestines, so it could be somehing to do with that. But, when in doubt, go and see a doctor.

I strongly recommend you go to the doctor to get yourself checked out.
