Xenadrine is an herbal supplement that contains -- among other things -- ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin. Ephedrine is a potent stimulant that works on your brain. It has many adverse, and sometimes fatal, side effects. Those include high blood pressure, increased heart rate, chest pain, heart attack, stroke, seizures, suicidal ideation and suicide, psychosis, memory loss, nervousness, aggressiveness, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, hepatitis, and death. The addition of caffeine and other compounds will enhance the effect, and the toxicity, of ephedrine.
Because Xenadrine is classified as a dietary supplement, the FDA does not have to approve it, so you take it at your own risk. In addition, there are no studies of the efficacy or safety of Xenadrine, so be wary of manufacturers unsubstantiated claims. And since 1994, the FDA has received and investigated more than 900 reports of adverse events associated with the use of products containg ephedrine. Most events occurred in young to middle aged, otherwise healthy adults, using the products for weight control and increased energy.
Maybe talk to your mom or a friends mom. Hope this helps.

unless he has some medical problems, or is one of the less than 1% that has serious trouble with it, then I would say he should be fine. More people per year die from food allergies than ephedrine. It just gets overblown in the media, and most that have died from taking it were taking double, or more, of the daily max..
