I have been experiencing back pain mostly in the center of my back for past 5 weeks. As well, my stomach has felt enlarged and at times is extremely hard. I went to the doctor yesterday and will be going for some tests (ultrasound, etc.). Am hoping it is a cyst or something - he said he can feel a "large mass" in my abdomen. I'm very scared and am dreading hearing the results - especially worried about cancer. Has anyone ever experienced this?
Just an update: I have a large solid mass on an ovary - and am off to see a specialist today. Am hoping all turns out well. I know I will be having surgery to remove it - am praying it's not cancererous. I'm a single mom with two young girls, and am so incredibly worried. Things are moving along quite quickly, so hopefully whatever it is can be dealt with, with positive results.

Thanks for your words of encouragement! I could sure use them right now. I have seen a specialist and will be having a hysterectomy within the next couple of weeks. The tumor is a lot larger than they originally told me - it's 14.08 in diameter! The specialist said that some indications are pointing to ovarian cancer - however, she is not entirely sure and can't be until she goes in. Needless to say, the waiting is going to drive me crazy. I will go ahead with the hysterectomy regardless of the outcome - there is always a good chance my other ovary will "act up" and I am almost 40 and know I won't be having any more children. It's weird to think about it..but am confident I've made the right choice even if the tumor is not cancerous. Again, thank you for your words of encouragement and I'll keep you posted!
