View Full Version : ? about weight

I guess this kinda goes along with jcobanov's question about weight. About 5 weeks ago I was tested for a number of things, and found I was hypothyroid so I was put on Levoxyl. I was tested 2 1/2 weeks ago for Addison's Disease, the endocrinologist strongly believes I have it, and should get the results by the end of today.

My problem is, ever since I started my thyroid medicine, I have gained a ton of weight! I have always been really slim, only weighing 115 pounds at the most, and have never been able to really gain weight no matter what I eat or try. (really not trying to brag here) I don't know if it's coincidental or what, but I have shot up to 132 pounds in these past 5 weeks...3 of them in the past 5 days. It's all in my stomach area...and it's worse at night. When I wake up in the morning my stomach is larger, but not terrible, but by the end of the day I look like I'm 6 months pregnant and my stomach is hard as a rock. I don't know what this could be. Is this due to the thyroid meds, or could it be due to the Addisons? It sucks, and I'm mad. LOL I can't fit into any of my pants/shorts anymore! I'm afraid I'm just going to keep shooting up in weight, and I haven't changed my eating habits or diet at all. What should I do??
