I just started a new job and am not used to strenuous stand up, fast paced work. I am slightly overweight and just started a new job as a waitress. I have had a desk job for the last 3 years until I was laid off. Usually about after an hour of working I start feeling very achy all over, my skin on my face tingles and my eyes start to burn and get bloodshot. Is this just being out of shape and not used to this type of work or could it be something more. Has anyone else experienced these kind of symptoms. I do have slightly high blood pressure and a heart murmur but it is kept under control with meds. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

With high blood pressure and a heart murmur, I'd say you aren't used to working on your feet yet. Maybe your meds need adjusting. However, I returned to work after some time off, and felt miserable the first few weeks (I have high blood pressure and chronic tachycardia.) It's an adjustment. I get tingly in the face when overexerted. Plus, depending on the type of restaurant, you may be overheated. If you're still troubled after a few weeks, time enough to get acclimated, I'd ask the doctor for his imput. I found a general set of stretching exercises, especially the back, hips and knees, helps the aches, if you aren't sure you want to do aerobics.
