couple months ago i noticed a lump in my neck an went to the doctor an he said it was just a gland,an he told me to get the f*** outta his office with my cancer S*** (he's been my families doctor for many years so we joke around like that) but im curious how to tell a lymphnode gland from a lump that might be something serious? cuz theres one on the side of my neck too. thanks :)
and just so y'all know,my deal with lumps in the neck started when my hero Mario Lemieux found one in his neck an it turned out to be hodgkans disease. an what with my worrisome nature an my recent smoking it crosses my mind once in awhile

The only way to know if it's cancer or not is for you to get a biopsy. Never ever let a doctor tell you it is nothing and not to worry. My dad had a lump on his neck too, and his GP and dermologist both said not to worry it was only a cyst. Well, to make a long story short, when he finally did get a biopsy it turned out to be melanoma that had metastized. Now he is facing the battle of his life, and his medical professionals may be soon facing a law suite.
