Visit www.anesthesiasafety.net (http://www.anesthesiasafety.net) and join our fight to keep anesthesia safe for seniors.

In just two short weeks Medicare may make surgery for seniors more dangerous and we don’t think that is good medicine. Just before President Clinton left office, Medicare forced through a new rule that would eliminate the requirement that anesthesia nurses be supervised by a doctor. Now it is up to HHS Secretary Thompson to decide whether to put the rule in effect, delay or revise it -- and time is running out.

Visit www.anesthesiasafety.net (http://www.anesthesiasafety.net) and e-mail your Representative, Senators and President Bush today. Tell your elected officials that you want to keep anesthesia safe for seniors.

If this rule goes into effect on May 18, there will no longer be any nationwide standard for anesthesia care for seniors. It will be up to 50 different states to decide if you have a doctor overseeing your anesthesia care – or not.

America’s seniors are counting on you. Please join us today at www.anesthesiasafety.net (http://www.anesthesiasafety.net)
