Man, if you think it's that bad, then you gotta go to the doc. You're right though, I guess you couldn't say syphillis or anything. Although I have heard stories about getting STD's just from contaminated areas (ie. shower floor), but I don't think that's possible, probably an urban legend. I say you gotta go see about it if it worries you. Hell I let my problem go for a little while and now I'm more scared than how I might have been if I would have went right away, (see symetrical bulges in lower abdomen topic post).

are you sure it might be an std?
ive never had a girlfriend befroe, never been with a girl before....and if your thinking that way, no not with a guy either, maybe its just a odd skin rash?

It could just be an inflamed hair follicle.
I would not be concerned unless it became worse or different.

i hope its nothing because it doesnt hurt at all, and there is only one of them, and i kinda put a little presure on it to see if i felt any pain and i didnt, and how would you say it may become worse? or different? like how drastic would you say

The poster meant worse or different by does it all of a sudden look redder or infected. Is it painful now whereas before it wasn't painful. Basically the poster was saying so long as it doesn't change or cause you any problems then just leave it alone and ignore it. If it starts causing problems then see the doc.

how long do "inflamed hair follicles" take to go away, and if it is one what are the chatacteristics of it? are they basically what i said?

An inflammed hair follicle would be more like a pimple that has errupted right around a hair follicle just as the name implies. It would be red, raised and possibly have a white center like a pimple and be painful like a pimple is when you touch it.

I normally go by a ten day rule, if its still there in 10 days I will make a doctors appointment. Some studies show like genital herpes, is not just sexually transmitted. Although the chance is very low, it can be spread by touching a contaminated area then touching yourself. For instance: A person just came from restroom and had been scratching him/herself in a infected area then washes hands before leaving restroom. #1 They had to touch the faucett handle, virus is there. Just food for thought, never just let things that are not in the norm go.

meisgood,

It could be just an ingrown hair. Also very treatable.
Go to your doctor to get it looked at.
