hi, i'm a really big hypochondriac and i constantly worry about getting sick. i've been feeling really bad lately and i just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas of what it could be, because i usually like to have ideas so my little brain doesnt start thinking that i'm dying and what not.

well...i can always tell from a few days...to a week before i get sick that i'm ACTUALLY getting sick cuz i will have that "icky" feeling for a while.
....last week i had that.
and then yesterday i started feeling nauseous after every time i ate.
i've had a little bit of gas and my stomaches hurt for a while now...(i always have stomache problems)
also, i feel a little like i am constipated a little bit.
my body has been pretty sore because i actually have gotten exercise the day before and my body was completely worn out.
today, i'm still not able to eat.
i have an aching type headache that wont go away, its on my forehead and temples and right above my eyes...i also have sinus problems and it hurts on my nose bone and under eyes.
plus pain in the back of my head between my head and where my neck are.
i also have really bad swollen glands on my neck, like under my jaw bone on the sides.
i dont have an appetite.
dont feel like doing anything or smoking.
i feel tired.
my eyes are kindof achy and sensitive to bright light.
my throat is a little bit scratchy every now and then, i'm thinking from sinus drainage.
and i just have that overall "sick" feeling and i feel very yuck.
i'm really scared to get sick but i'm scared that i'm coming down with something. i feel misserable right now. does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?
i have a REALLY busy week so i dont need to be getting sick http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif(

thanks.

Sounds like your sinuses are acting up. If the sinus pain and pressure when you bend over is more than you can tolerate then see the doc and get this checked. If the pressure isn't that bad then start taking a good multivitamin as well as an antioxidant supplement so that you keep your immune system healthy and don't get sick and don't have the sinus problems any more. As for the constipation.........you can try a fiber supplement like metamucil or if you feel you need results then use a glycerin suppository. If you have frequent bouts of constipation then be sure to use a fiber supplement daily and add prunes or prune juice to your routine as well as increasing your water intake.

Hi!- First of all, Migable (the above poster) always seems to have very sensible good advice....
You say you're a hypochondriac. I used to be as well. Every sensation I got I translated immediately into a death sentence. You are so focused on every single bodily sensation that it's hard to tune them out and equally difficult maintain true perpective on what you are feeling. You sound very anxious and a bit depressed which ALONE can produce so many uncomfortable "symptoms".
The most important thing you should try to remember is that the majority of the complaints that bring us to a doctor's office are NOT FATAL and more often than not they are benign and/or treatable. Hold onto that thought....(don't say "But..." yet!)
I want to address a few of your complaints one at a time:
1) "Always have stomach problems"-- This could be chronic anxiety and or depression and/or simply not eating right (i.e. wrong foods, irregular meals...basically lousy nutrition.)
2) A sore body after exercise is not unusual if you don't do it regularly. Gotta have REGULAR exercise, so your poor body doesn't rebel when you push it.
3) Chronic headaches sound like chronic tension in your case, particularly since you mention pain in the neck. But also, as Migable says, (as do you) sinus related. Lack of sleep also. Poor eating habits.
4) Swollen lymph nodes usually indicate an infection, so you really should find out if you have a low-grade sinus infection, particularly since you have achey eyes and sensitivity to light.
Chronic sinusitis alone can make you feel tired all the time and affect your appetite.
So, why not make an appt. with your doctor, try to stop worrying so much (you're gonna live I promise!) and you'll start to feel better before you know it.....
